#136 - Jimmy Webb

from The Paul Leslie Hour

Jimmy Webb is a songwriter, composer, singer and recording artist. An inductee of the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, Webb's famed songs include "Galveston," "Witchita Lineman," "All I Know," "MacArthur Park," and "Up, Up and Away" just to name a few. The songs of Jimmy Webb have been recorded by everone from Elvis Presley to Frank Sinatra. In this interview recorded back in 2010, the legendary Jimmy Webb tells some wonderful stories, including one involving the great Louis Armstrong. This interview was broadcast on FM radio in support of his album Just Across the River which consisted mostly of duets with iconic singers like Billy Joel, Jackson Browne, Mark Knopfler, Linda Ronstadt, and the late Glen Campbell. It is a pleasure to present this interview. I was brimming with excitement at a chance to speak with America's Songwriter!
