This is the daily benefit we've got the checks, starting our day right with the super short devotionary word class. Hey guys, today's reading is taken from Nehemiah chapter 9 verse 5. They said, stand up and praise the Lord your God, praise him forever and ever, that everyone praises glorious name, although no human praise is great enough. So I was having a discussion with one of my friends recently and she was passionately against the idea of churches having auditions for its choir members.

She said, it's not necessary because true worship, the re-song isn't to do with the quality of your voice or the quality of your heart. What she said about worship was so true, though I must confess I don't think we entirely agreed on all of it, but we did agree that whilst being able to sing or lead a congregation well could be one thing, but worshiping well is another altogether, and this is what God truly longs for, for us to worship him well. Today's verses shouted from the rooftops by a group of Levites. Levites in the Bible were giving a special role in the temple, one of the roles was to sing Psalms during temple services, they were great worshipers.

Here they declared, stand up and praise the Lord your God, praise him forever and ever, let everyone praise his glorious name, although no human praise is great enough. It's a good reminder at the end that as great or as passionate as we think we are singing unto God, still no human praise, no human worship is great enough to convey the splendor of God. It doesn't come close to doing God justice, but it does honor him and bring him great delight. Worshiping can be a way we can give unto God as he deserves, so let's do it well and from our hearts, and like the verses, let's keep doing it.

Life will beat you down and can leave you deflated, but let me lift it up afresh as we lift up our God in praise. And if you don't have the words today because your heart is too heavy, God hears your worship within as you come to him. Today, keep your heart of worship alive. Pray with me, Lord, thank you for your awesome presence.

Keep revealing yourself to me day by day, fill my heart with worship and let my lips forever speak your praises in Jesus' name, Amen.
