139 - Be Like A Tree

Psalm 1:2-3 But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper. When I was new to faith in God, I joined a young adult’s group and learned Psalm 1 as a song. It was in the King James Version, word for word. I had heard about the benefits of memorizing Scripture, so I worked on knowing each word by heart.  Whether in the shadows of the nighttime or the need of guidance in the daytime, these words were like medicine. The impact of having this Psalm memorized was what inspired me to write Scripture songs years later.
