14: Deep Rising (w/ Stewart Sparke)

Episode 14 sees Andy and Mitch joined by Stewart Sparke, director of The Creature Below and Frightfest 2018 official selection, Book of Monsters.  His chosen film? Deep Rising!   Directed by a pre-The Mummy Stephen Sommers, 1998 tentacular spectacular Deep Rising is, put simply, a hoot. It's FULL SCREAM AHEAD in a rip-roaring aquatic monster movie that out Leviathans Leviathan! It's a hard one to hate, even if that old stick in the mud Roger Ebert did include the film on his "Most Hated" films list!  The film stars Treat Williams, Famke Janssen, Sommers regular Kevin J. O'Connor, Wes Studi, Anthony Heald and Jason Flemyng. To watch Deep Rising is to love Deep Rising. Go. Love it.   The synopsis is as follows:  When a band of ruthless hijackers invade the world's most luxurious cruise ship, they're shocked to discover the passengers have mysteriously vanished! But that doesn't mean they are alone!
