#14 - Nye Street Studio Photography

from What's Up Omaha with Small Guy Promotions · host Small Guy Promotions

In this episode of What's Up Omaha I interview local photographer and President of Nebraska Spina Bifida Site, Nia Karmann, and we talk about how Spina Bifida played a vital role in her becoming a small business owner. There was one instance in particular that stands out when she was on a job shadow and the professional photographer would not show her the ropes because he didn't believe in her ability to succeed and overcome her situation. Nia took some much needed time to think and pray on making the right decisions for her future and her path. She ended up deciding to follow her heart and became a photographer despite what anyone thought and I think that this is awesome! Nia and I met last October on National Spina Bifida Day at a fundraiser that her organization coordinated at Smitty's Garage (Restaurant). My wife and I have some family friends with a child that was born with Spina Bifida and we wanted to support the cause.
