Sometimes people who've yet to make it big have a hard time deciding whether they should keep pursuing their dreams or quit kidding themselves. Take, for instance, aspiring screenwriter Joe Gillis. What happens when these two characters cross paths? It's not pretty, but it makes for a truly classic film.
