14: Talking to Kids About Sibling Loss

from Navigating Baby Loss · host Jennifer Senn

Send Jen a Text MessageI have a unique perspective on this topic because I have been on both sides of the coin as a sibling who has tried to understand stillbirth loss and as a parent who has had to try to explain it to my own children. In this episode, I tell my own story of how it felt to be on both sides and how we decided to handle it as parents. I give my best advice to anyone who is going through it now or who may go through it in the future. It can be really hard to face so many questions your kids may have about pregnancy loss or stillbirth but it also can be very healing to have someone who shares your dreams about how it could have been. I do encourage you to let them in on as much as you feel comfortable with and to show your emotion to them.
