'Het mag wel wat zachter in Nederland' In Onderweg is de nieuwe Theoloog des Vaderlands te gast: Almatine Leene. Deze eervolle benoeming is niet de enige reden waarom ze te gast is. Ze is vorige week zondag bevestigd als predikant van de Gereformeerd Vrijgemaakte kerk in Hattem. En dat is éxtra bijzonder, omdat ze daarmee de eerste vrouwelijke predikant is van de Vrijgemaakte kerk. Almatine Leene heeft jarenlang in Zuid Afrika gewoond en gewerkt, in Stellenbosch, waar ze studeerde, promoveerde én predikant werd. Nu woont ze met haar Zuid-Afrikaanse man en hun drie kinderen in Nederland. Omdat ze nog maar net terug is uit het buitenland kreeg ze kans om met een frisse blik naar Nederland te kijken. Ze zegt: 'Het mag wel wat zachter Nederland.' En daarmee doelt ze op de polarisatie in de samenleving, op discussies waarbij mensen snel op tenen zijn getrapt. Ze zegt 'In Zuid-Afrika zijn mensen meer gericht op relatie, pas daarna komt er een gesprek.'
