The Council had announced plans to sell off the land used by Powerleague for 5-a-side football as a way of raising the money for the new Meadowbank Stadium. The cash would be shared between the Council and Powerleague.A campaign was started to 'Save the Porty 5s' and an organisation called Action Westbank was set up to consider what the community wanted for the site.Well, we heard recently on Porty People that Powerleague, far from walking away from Portobello, was investing heavily in improving the facility. You may have heard that new energy efficient floodlights had already been installed.
