1400 BC: The Daughters of Zelophehad

One of the final acts of Moses was to perform another census. The census, prior to the invasion of Canaan, removed the inheritance of Zelophehad, a Levite, who died without sons. In a bold move against the law, the five daughters of Zelophehad boldly addressed their claim for their inheritance.
