As industry modernizes efforts around motor reliability continues to be at the forefront of importance. Mike Rathbun is an expert in the reliability world and takes us back to the basics to building an effective and efficient motor reliability program.  He outlines the importance of having processes in place that can be ingrained in operations with consistent repeatable functions.

Mike spends time talking through installation best practices to ensure that when a motor asset is installed that proper due diligence is taken to ensure maximum run life is achieved.  Too many times steps are skipped in the rush to get equipment running and those steps could be greatly reducing the run life of your new motor.

Motor storage practices are areas that get overlooked and can greatly impact reliability.  Mike walks through several use cases on how manufacturers have adopted best practices and has shown improvements.  The days of having a motor area are passing and leading end users ensure their critical spare assets are in controlled areas with proper preventative maintenance being performed.  The end goal is for a motor be installed and run at peak efficiency out the gate and meet a desired run life.

So if you're new to industry and want to learn about the exciting world of motor reliability this conversation will bring value.  It's full of wisdom and practical insight that can be applied right now in any industrial facility.
