from The insuleoin Podcast - Redefining Diabetes

Part 2 of Eoin's chat with Daniel Newman (@t1d_dan)Daniel is from the UK and was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 10. Admittedly, Daniel wasn't the best at his diabetes management in the early years. He says himself that as a teen he just wanted to be able to hang around with his friends after school and eat 'junk'.Daniel has experienced complications from his diabetes which include Diabetic Retinopathy and in 2018 had to undergo a kidney transplant. He believes that Diabetic complications can be seen as a stigma and encourages more people to be open about it.These days, Daniel is a big member in the diabetic community and even launched his own podcast 'Talking Type 1 Podcast' in 2020 (https://talkingtype1podcast.buzzsprout.com/)As always, be sure to rate, comment, subscribe and share. Your interaction and feedback really helps the podcast.
