Eli Somer is an Israeli Professor of Clinical Psychology at the University of Haifa, School of Social Work. Dr. Somer coined the term "Maladaptive Daydreaming" which is a behavior where a person spends an excessive amount of time daydreaming, often becoming immersed in their imagination. Dr. Somer founded The International Consortium for Maladaptive Daydreaming Research (ICMDR) a platform for scientific cooperation and a depository of information on immersive and dysfunctional forms of daydreaming.
