144 - The Shining (1980) Review
from The Final Podcast · host The Final Podcast
Jack Torrence accepts a job to be the new caretaker of the isolated Overlook Hotel for the winter. After him and his family settle in, he starts to descend into madness while his young son has premonitions of past and future events. The Shining is a Stanley Kubric film based off of the Stephen King book of the same name. Released in 1980, this movie still holds up as one of the best horror movies ever made and that's made possible by the excellent direction of Kubric and the amazing and often psychotic acting of Jack Nicholson. Shelley Duvall, Danny Lloyd, and Scatman Crothers are all featured in the movie and do an incredible job supporting. The Shining is brilliant, crazy, mysterious, and always a joy to watch.
