147 We Interrupt this Scheduled Bromance

from Language of Bromance · host Richard and Shawn

With the world moving at a faster pace and everyone's eyes glued to the television on the night of November 22nd 1987 history was made.  In the Chicago area the WGN signal was hacked by a person imitating Max Headroom.  Only lasting a few minutes the group of signal hackers thought they were defeated.   A few hours later the Chicago PBS station during a Dr Who episode was hacked by someone dressed as Max Headroom spouting off and getting spanked by a flyswatter for over 2 minutes.  This set the chase for the Mask wearing bandit.   There have been other hackers who have taken over signal for the Playboy channel, Showtime, HBO, and emergency broadcast systems.  Each with their own unique story.   Give a listen to The Language of Bromance in Episode 147 We Interrupt This Scheduled Bromance. The duo laugh about things they go through, stories in the news and even getting serious discussing net neutrality along with other issues. Every so often their friendship turns to a bitter rivalry with their nerdiest creation the draft episodes. An original take on a best of or a top 10 list. The draft episodes are done like an NFL Draft 7 rounds where Richard and Shawn flip-flop picks on various topics.
