149. Feeling ok on the inside with Mark Purser

from How I quit alcohol

In this episode I catch up with my good mate and mentor Mark Purser. We chat about how as humans all we want to do is feel ok on the inside and when we don't feel ok on the inside we usually go to externals to make us ok. But there is that sweet spot, between the stimulus and the response. When we can recognise that we are not ok, we can respond in a way that is more nurturing rather than reacting and creating more suffering. We can rely on ourselves to get us through when we have the tools from a daily practice. One good thing about removing alcohol is that we can start to recognise our emotional responses we can start to have a relationship with what is showing up rather than ignoring it or pushing it away. It can be an opportunity for deep healing.Mark and I have a retreat in Bali coming up where we will be diving deep into self healing and nurturing.
