#15 Bye the Dip

Oshi and I got back in the saddle after a missed week and caught up on everything from a chaotic kids’ baseball tournament to Oshi gearing up for a farmer’s market run with Bitcoin signage, permits, menus, and all the little frictions that come with trying to do honest local commerce. We also ran through listener boosts and feedback, reflected on value-for-value, and then pivoted into a wider conversation about building tools that are actually useful in real life instead of just talking about them. That led us into Kimi K3, Moonshot AI, using Roo Code inside VS Code with PPQ.ai, and why open-source or at least more open AI workflows feel a lot more interesting than the shiny corporate black boxes.From there we went full freedom-tech-and-dirt mode: BIOS headaches, Windows misery, Linux evangelism, and why older ThinkPads plus Linux Mint still feel like a sane path for people who want more control over their machines. We also answered Bitcoin Beans’ question on maximizing biodiversity in garden beds, talked through practical permaculture ideas like feeding the soil, keeping it covered, planting in layers, and leaving room for wild habitat, then rolled into the next permaculture principle: using and valuing renewable resources.
