15. Managing care for aging loved ones- Donna Cella & Your Eldercare Solutions
from Midlife Crescendo | Faith, Reinvention and Honest Conversations about Midlife for Women Over 40 · host Debbie Cunningham
My guest this week is Donna Cella with Your Eldercare Solutions. Early in her career as a nurse she realized someone needed to be advocating for aging patients and their families by communicating between them and our healthcare systems: interpreting not only the patient needs but care options & resources available which are not always very clear. If you have aging loved ones or are concerned about your own journey as you age, I think you’ll enjoy my conversation with Donna! She saw first hand the difficulty when adult kids were trying to advocate for their aging parents from afar. Even if family members were close by and needing to take off work and rearrange their schedules. She looked for different avenues to help manage the care for aging patients. Geriatric care management- national organization -How she started the company young then had to sell it. -Even after she felt God prompted her, she resisted it! -How she started a brand new company again at 59 -Aging solo seniors that don’t have an advocate and how eldercare can help. -Examples of situations & resources available where advocacy can help -Her heart to help people in the sandwich generation. Those that are still raising families and trying to also manage care for their aging parents. -Her heart for aging solo seniors who don't have anyone to advocate on their behalf.
