from Women's Health, Wisdom, and. . . WINE! · host Dr. Laurena White

Send us Fan MailThe Women's Health, Wisdom, and... WINE! podcast is a weekly conversation with practitioners, providers, patients & healers about complex reproductive medicine & women's health challenges, the value of an integrative approach to these challenges, many of the women's health topics you're already thinking about & uncomfortable talking about & my personal favorite... WINE!September is Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) Awareness Month. As we prepare for season two of the podcast (with both audio AND visual components), we will be taking the opportunity to hyperfocus on PCOS, the most common endocrine (hormonal) disorder in women, this month. PCOS is associated with reproductive and mental health complications, metabolic dysfunction, and increased cardiovascular risk. Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome is a polygenic condition that is often misdiagnosed and consequently "mistreated".   This lifelong condition requires individualized adjustments to care throughout the lifecycle AND the road to healing requires consistent lifestyle changes. In this episode, we recap a bit of Part III's focus on the diagnostic aspects while further discussing how a tailored approach to treatment is the ONLY way to adequately address signs, symptoms, and more importantly, the underlying root cause of the prevalent metabolic dysfunction. The hashtag for the podcast is #nourishyourflourish.
