15. The Cecil Hotel
from Everything Scary · host Lynn & Hayley
Send us Fan MailIn 1924 construction started on The Cecil hotel. In downtown LA. It was meant for business men and elite socialites looking for a cheap place to stay for a night. With a lobby full of alabaster statues, marble floors, a stained glass window in ceiling, the glamour however stopped there. The rooms left a lot to be desired, and when the Great Depression hit in 1929 and The Cecil took a hit. In order to keep afloat they started renting out rooms long term for people down on their luck. And that is when all the deaths and crime, and mysterious happening started taking place. Still to this day, 911 is being called 1-3 times a day to The Cecil. Oh and there was also the time serial killer Richard Ramirez would walk the halls covered in blood, while in his underpants. Buckle up, it’s about to get weird.Support the showIf you’re interested in receiving bonus episodes, early release dates, an everything scary sticker and ‘thank you’ as well as a shout out on our regular feed!
