Laurie Sheck is the author of three novels and five collections of poems, which have been reviewed in The New Yorker, The New York Times, The Washington Post, and The Boston Review, as well as numerous essays, which have appeared in The Paris Review, Granta, The Atlantic, and elsewhere. She’s been a Guggenheim Fellow, a Radcliffe Fellow, a National Endowment for the Arts Fellow, a Cullman Center Fellow, and a Creative Capital Awardee and has taught at Princeton, Columbia, Rutgers, and the New School. In this episode, we discuss Laurie’s approach to speculative fiction, variously informed by Mary Shelley, Borjes, and Dostoevsky.
