15: What to Expect During a Brace Scan

We provide the ScoliBrace for our patients that need bracing for scoliosis. ScoliBrace is a 3D over-corrective brace that requires a 3D scan to make sure the brace is uniquely fitted for your body. In this week’s episode, Dr. Mandy walks you through what to expect during a brace scan so you are fully prepared and ready for your appointment. The brace scan appointment should last approximately 40-60 minutes. Below are the details you need to know requiring what to wear for this scan: TOP: A tight fitting top that does not cover the spine. Wearing a regular bra is best. Please no racerback bras or sports bras.BOTTOM: boy shorts, tight yoga pants, or simply underwear or a swimsuit bottom is best. Nothing frilly though.HAIR: If you have long hair, wear it in a bun or bring a hair tie to pull it up for the scan.BRACE COLOR: You can view the brace, and choose a color, at https://scolicare.com/scolibrace-colors/.
