151: Return to Silent Hill Review!

What’s up Gamers?! A brutal news roundup, a wild game discovery stack, and then the real event—John and Dean take a wrecking ball to Return to Silent Hill and somehow make the movie sound even more cursed than it already is.Before the review goes off the rails, they hit the latest gaming headlines and release dates, including a new PS5 exploit, Game Pass additions, Epic freebies, a fresh Minecraft dimension tease, and a surprising amount of noise around preservation, modding, and old games coming back from the dead. Then the conversation shifts into a showcase of bizarre upcoming indie titles—from a Junji Ito-inspired cleaning sim to a roguelite shooter, a face-stealing thriller, a spaghetti western with destructible environments, and a multiplayer game built around typing numbers off people’s foreheads. But the heart of the episode is the long, painfully honest breakdown of Return to Silent Hill. John and Dean unpack why the film’s structure collapses under its own references, why the CG and pacing make everything feel disjointed, and why even the strongest creature designs can’t save a movie that keeps raising questions it never answers. They also dig into what makes a good adaptation actually work, how the film mishandles Pyramid Head, and why the Silent Hill mythos deserves far better than a shallow retread. If you like gaming news, weird new indie concepts, and a profanity-laced takedown of a bad horror movie, this one is for you. Please consider leaving us a 5 Star Rating and/or Review, so we can continue to grow!Check out the other shows on the Dynamic Podcast Network, including:Dynamic Duel: Marvel vs DCMax Destruction: Movie FightsSenjoh World: Anime BattlesCheck us out on Instagram, TikTok, Bluesky, and Mastodon! And check out our Website, hosted by Riverside.com!#sega #nintendo #microsoft #xbox #epicgames #gog #steam #valve #konami #returntosilenthill #silenthill
