152: Jessica Chambers
from Over My Dead Pod
On the night of December 6th, 2014, nineteen-year-old Jessica Chambers was found walking down a rural road in Courtland, Mississippi, engulfed in flames. Nearly every inch of her body had been burned. And yet somehow, impossibly, she was still alive. Before she died, investigators believed Jessica tried to identify the person who set her on fire. But what she said—or what people thought she said—would become one of the most disputed and controversial pieces of evidence in modern true crime history. For years, the case gripped the nation. Two murder trials. Hung juries. A third trial. Allegations of racism, corruption, tunnel vision, and witness intimidation. And at the center of it all: a man named Quinton Tellis. This is the story of the murder of Jessica Chambers—and the trials that followed. For more information, check out overmydeadpod.com and @overmydeadpod on social media!
