A lot of second time moms think they have a longer labor ahead of them than they actually do…and it was no different for Scotlyn when her labor zoomed by and nobody made it to the labor and delivery room before her daughter was born, not even Scotlyn! But a dream birth doesn’t always make for a dream postpartum. When Scotlyn’s daughter, Winnie, was two weeks old, her and her husband would face a challenge harder than birth itself as their daughter was rushed to the ER with vitals that wouldn’t stabilize, and eventually taken to Duke’s pediatric cardiology department.
