153: Beta Testerz 4!

What’s Up Gamers?!A brutal first-person horror game, a wave of AI-powered game decompiles, and a surprise debate about what digital ownership should actually mean—this episode moves from gaming news into one of the most jaw-dropping demo impressions of the season. If you care about horror games, weird indie discoveries, or the future of how we buy and preserve games, this one hits every nerve.John and Dean kick things off with the latest release schedule, Epic Games Store freebies, Epic’s Linux launcher news, the console sales crash, a proposed digital ownership bill, and the latest chaos around GTA 6, Xbox AI tooling, Activision QA, and a new Xbox controller. They also react to the growing trend of AI-assisted game decompilation and what it could mean for long-lost classics getting modern PC versions. Then the episode shifts into the main event: Clive Barker’s Hellraiser Revival. You get the full demo breakdown, from the game’s oppressive atmosphere and razor-sharp art direction to Doug Bradley’s return as Pinhead, the puzzle-box mechanics, light crafting, and why this adaptation feels like it actually understands the source material. John and Dean also dig into the game’s tone, its unapologetically mature content, how well it runs, and whether the demo justifies the hype. You’ll also hear about a handful of other standout horror and puzzle demos, including Skin Face and Dead Letter Department, plus more strange indie finds that are equal parts inventive and unsettling.Essential listening if you love horror games, gaming industry nonsense, or hearing two hosts go from laughing about “cuck coding” to seriously dissecting one of the most faithful licensed horror adaptations in years. Please consider leaving us a 5 Star Rating and/or Review, so we can continue to grow!Check out the other shows on the Dynamic Podcast Network, including:Dynamic Duel: Marvel vs DCMax Destruction: Movie FightsSenjoh World: Anime BattlesCheck us out on Instagram, TikTok, Bluesky, and Mastodon! And check out our Website, hosted by Riverside.com!#sega #nintendo #microsoft #xbox #epicgames #gog #steam #valve #hellraiserrevival #gamereview #demo
