Five, four, three, two, one. Retrospection is gold. Oh, four, I've given a few minutes of fire. We're snipping the strings and taking a look at the live action cinematic outing for International Rescue with Thunderbirds from 2004.
Whoa, whoa, 2004. Yes. No, Thunderbirds from 1960. No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Live action. Can we pause for, what is it, are in 90 minutes? Sure. Yeah, why?
Hold on, why? Oh, no reason, no reason. I'll be back, all right? I'll fix it in the air.
No, no, no, okay. Okay, okay, okay. Okay, back. Hello, welcome to Retrospection.
I can't believe I've done work for no reason. That's a criminal act for you with it. It is, it really is. It really is.
I want compensation, Colin. That's what I want. I'll give you a compensation all over your face. I don't know.
I don't know. So my name's Colin, and I never figured you for a crybaby. You know me better than that, Colin. That's true because there was that time you dropped a full bottle of whiskey in the street.
And with tears in your eyes, you were on all fours, licking it from the gutter like a matted stray B-Shawn freeze. We had to drag you from the floor. You were screaming, no, God, why have you forsaken me? Which was surprisingly religious.
Still over it really. No. And my name's Paul, and that's another good one, Diaper, boy. I am not wearing a diaper.
I have never worn a diaper. However, in the future, the possibility does remain. You never know. I mean, the years are advancing, Colin.
I mean. Yeah, although I did do, you know what? It's not biological age, it's something. Something age.
I can't remember what it is. It did say it was 38 for me in this test that I did. I know. I know.
No, did this test fall off the back of a lorry, Colin? I mean, was it legit? Fell off the back of a lorry, bounced down the street, was running over 15 times. Yeah, it's one of those.
Yeah. I thought so. I thought so. TMTB says, dangerous missions are the bread and butter at the Thunderbirds, a high-tech secret force employed by the government led by Geoff Tracy, Bill Paxton.
The Thunderbirds are at the top of their game, but the nemesis, the hood, Ben Kingsley, as landed on their island and is attempted a coup by using the team's rescue vehicles, he'll soon discover that the Thunderbirds won't go down. Sorry, what? That's what it says. OK, all right.
I didn't watch a parody version or one of those versions. One of those versions. I wonder if there's a version. Well, just look later, Colin.
Don't look now. All right, well, you'll check it out later. Yeah, look, look. So the film stars Brady, Colbet, as Alan Tracy, Bill Paxton as Geoff Tracy, Anthony Edwards as brains, Ben Kingsley as the hood, Sophia Miles as Lady Penelope, Ron Cook as Parker, Vanessa Hudgens as Tint and Philip Winchester as Scott Tracy.
It's an interesting cast. I mean, yes, yes. Yes, there are some good people doing good performances. Yeah, and then there are others.
There are. One in particular springs to mind which is on the opposite side, I would say. Or maybe we'll get to that when we have a scene with them, maybe? Well, there's lots of scenes with this person.
So yeah, I think we will. Alan, there you go. Starry's by Peter Hewitt, who was going to be the original director, Ann Williams-Bahn, and it was eventually directed by Jonathan Frakes. Who played?
He didn't play anybody. He was a director. That's not true. He did have a little role at the end.
He did that street. Yes, yes. He did. Interesting.
I mean, he's made some good movies. I think Jonathan Frakes would make a good Marvel film director. Based on this movie? Based on everything he's done, really.
And including this, he has a really good grasp of working with CGI. Yeah. He's a solid director who doesn't appear to rock the boat or push his own agenda where it's not needed. Yeah, and he seems to try to come in under budget when he can as well.
Yes. Handel's action scenes well? Yeah, yeah, I would say that. Everybody who works with him has nothing bad to say about him.
Yeah, he does come across as one of those sort of quintessential nice guys. Doesn't he just seems to get along? Yeah, like me. He always brings the films in on time.
And like you said on budget. And after the film is made, he's really good at towing the PI line for the studio, which may sound like a criticism, but isn't if you're making a film if you're a studio. Certainly not if you're making a big budget studio movie, it's expected, isn't it? I think to not do it is just rude.
Yeah, yeah. But so it seems like, you know, his career was slightly derailed by a film that I can't think of. But you can't think of. No.
Don't know which one it was. You know, you said about this movie that he feels that the bad box office for this movie meant that he felt he's never going to be offered another big movie ever again. It was true, right? Pretty much.
Yeah. He just did TV. I think that's a shame to be honest. I don't think I don't think he's at fault in this film.
No, I think there's other factors that we don't spoil in what we think of this movie later. I think there's other factors that are applying in this that don't work. It's not the director's fault. I mean, original writer, Kerry Kirkpatrick, left after working title for the original script was too British.
And I think that was the mistake that was the mistake they made. They should have left it as being too British because maybe it wants to be a huge success immediately, but it would have evolved into a cult film as time has gone by because British films do that around the world. People love that British angle. This will look at the Avengers.
You look at another working title film, Bridget Jones. That's very British. Yeah, yeah, definitely. Definitely.
And whereas this is, I mean, it's been forgotten, isn't it really this movie? Yes, yes. You know, you say it had been in developments is 1996. I mean, at one point, we're going to make it as a completely CGI movie.
Yeah, not sure about that back then. Isn't there a Thunderbirds CGI show in the last few years? Yes, from the birds I go. And it is absolutely excellent.
Is it? Oh, OK. It's very good. It's not totally CGI.
They do use models for the ships. And then they have some with CGI. Oh, that sounds interesting. Yeah, wetter workshop created the models for it.
Oh, right. I'll have to check that out. The series, every episode is a movie. Yeah, I'll definitely have to check that out.
There was another idea that was going to be a live action movie, sir, in all the Baldwin brothers. Oh, that sounds like a gimmick. It was. And Rowan Atkinson was going to play brains as well in that one.
Oh, oh, oh, oh. Like Rowan Atkinson, don't have a problem with him, but no, no. Yeah. Right.
Yeah. So if you had decided not to direct after he didn't like the changes that were made to the script, Mike Trim, who works on the original series, was brought in as a concept artist, but then none of his work was used. OK, so this is going to be a question I'm constantly going to ask you through this movie, because, but he thought, no, I don't know what you have ever talked about Thunderbirds. I'm not really a Thunderbirds fan.
Thank you for listening to Retrospection. The last episode. Look, I don't have anything against Thunderbirds. Just an episode, obviously.
I've seen maybe a handful of episodes when I was a kid, and I didn't hate them, but it was just never something that it wasn't like sitting down TV for me Thunderbirds. If it was on, I would leave it on, but I wouldn't go looking for it as a kid, you know. So is it that you do you have problems with shows with puppets? Not at all, because I like terahawks quite like Joe 90.
Do you? Yeah. Yeah. We've done an episode on Joe 90.
Have a look. Yeah. You forget that after we we recard an episode of Retrospection, I go into a little cubicle and have my brain. Yeah.
Yeah. You get info dumped. Yeah. It's just wiped.
Yeah. Yeah. I must remember that. So yeah, it's not a problem with puppet stuff.
It just didn't click with me. I mean, I quite like Captain Skyler as well. What about Stingray? Against Stingray is one that I've never really watched.
So maybe it's like a point you started watching them because they're at Captain Skyler and terahawks are later ones, maybe. Could be that. Could be that. Having said that, I do love all the models of the ships and I think they're iconic.
And even though I'm not familiar with the show, I know those designs, you know. I mean, it's hard to be British and not know about Thunderbirds. Exactly. Exactly.
It was always around. I think when we were kids in the 80s, it had a resurgence. I remember there was a show called, like a kid show called Blue Peter and then they would teach you how to build Tracy in Ireland over a couple of cereal boxes and some sticky back plastic, always sticky back plastic. They weren't allowed to say sell tape on the VBC because it's a brand name.
Yeah. So yeah, so I love the look of it. It's just I just never really got into actually watching it properly. So all the way through this, I'm going to be constantly asking you, is this accurate?
Is this not accurate? I'm not like the ultimate not know all of Thunderbirds. Okay. You're probably, you're going to know more than me.
So let's we'll find out as we go along. Okay. Could be too idiot. Not knowing what they're talking about.
Watch it on the front of the front of the front of the front of the front of the front. That's nothing new, is it? No, that's true. True.
For us. Richard Curtis did a rewrite job on Lady Penelope's dialogue. Yeah. It's all the Penelope's and Brains it seems, isn't it?
Yeah. Yeah. And he was involved because I didn't remember this. It's a work entitled film.
Makes sense, doesn't it? Why? Does it make sense? It seems that's entitled guy, isn't it?
Yeah, that makes sense. Being a working title film, this kind of film doesn't seem like the wheelhouse. No, but it is a British production company, isn't it? Thunderbirds is a British product, isn't it?
Yeah. It's set in same Britain. Yeah, which is why you probably should have left it as a very British script. Yeah.
I mean, they try. I mean, I'm pretty sure I saw a red phone box and a red bus in the London sequence towards the end of the movie. Yeah. Yeah.
That's all in there. Even then, that has a weird thing about it we have to talk about. Yeah, I know. Yeah, yeah.
I think we're going to be on the same page, at least with that. Oh, make a change. I know. Richard Curtis wasn't even credited though, was he?
No, he's not. No, he's just brought in to do a quick job. There's a disagreement as to whether Jerry Anderson, creator of the original series, was asked to be involved or ignored. Anyway, when he saw the movie, he said it was the biggest load of crap he'd ever seen.
And that's a darn quiet word, isn't it? Yes, yes. He's one of liked it though, apparently. She said it was a wonderful adventure and a great tribute.
Do you think she was... One of them was playing the PR game. Yeah, I think so. I think he was offered like 100,000 or something to just turn up at the premiere and he said no.
Crazy. I mean, you turn off at half of that, wouldn't you? I turn up for a premiere of something you'd made for a tenth of that. Look, if full moon productions made a movie of retrospection, okay?
Don't overthink it. Okay, all right, so I'm already working for a script. Yeah, and it's the worst movie you've ever seen in your life. And they said 50 grand for both of us if we just turn up at the premiere and just smile and endorse it.
50 each, oh come on, you do it for 25, wouldn't you? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, well, I think we've given the game away. Yeah, yeah.
Yeah. We played a game anyway. Oh, yeah. Absolutely, absolutely.
It's got to be done. We're currently have a script. I think they could knock us down to a, what, 10 grand? Five grand?
Yeah, yeah. That's a two-low ball, in case they say something. No, no, no, no. They're not listening anyway.
No. Roger Ebert's review stated Thunderbirds was going to go on my list of the worst movies of the year, but it just wasn't good enough. That's a quote, you know. That is a fun quote.
But he was an notorious brag show, wasn't it? Yeah, yeah. He didn't ever like anything really. No.
The actors all seem to have a fondness for their time on the film. And I bet that's down to Johnathan Fraggs. Yeah, I think so. A lot of it.
I think a lot of British actors pretending to be Americans in this film. That's one of my, I hate that, you know, especially when they're not very good at it. It reminds me of old BBC shows when you see someone who you know for a fact talks with a company accent most of the time and they're trying to do like East Coast or West Coast and it's just, oh, please just stop. It's actually painful and I'm sure it's more painful for Americans listening to it.
There's one in this because I recognise different spooks from her own detective TV series that she's had and she was in a very small scene with an American accent and it was supposed to be an American like yeah, that was obviously filmed in the UK. Yeah, well I think the movie was shot in the UK. UK and then the Seychelles for the Island stuff. Oh yeah, yeah.
But it's a 57 million which is smaller than I expected and smaller than it looks. Yeah, I think he knocked it out by a few didn't he? Yeah, I think again, I mean we've, we seem to be doing some serious loving on Mr. Fraggs but...
It's not to love, you know. And it grows well wide, 28 million. Yeah. Better than, better odds in some of the movies that we covered on retrospections.
That is true, that is true. Yeah, I was wondering like, did this really hurt working title? But then I looked them up and they were like, no, they're fine. They went on to do other stuff.
Yeah, they had to get hit. Yeah, they had to get hit. Yeah, they had to get it signed. Yeah, they went on stuff at night, mate.
Don't talk about that. Fans are annoyed that Lady Penelope's Caron is a fard, not a Rolls Royce because BMW owned Rolls Royce so they could only use natural production car but Fard actually built them something. Yeah, I think it's pretty cool the caron in this movie. I think a lot of the hardware, we'll talk about it as we ask by each of them but I think a lot of the hardware looks good.
Yeah. Yeah. Newspapers at the time ran with headlines like Thunderbirds are a no go. Yeah, that's fair enough.
Yeah. And another critic said that in this case, FAB stood for Flop and Burn. Oh, nasty. You don't use an acronym, but I don't think.
That's right. That's the rules. Yes, the rules. It's lazy.
Alternative castings could have been Kristen Scott Thomas, John and Lumley, and Elizabeth Hurley were all considered for the part of Lady Penelope. No, we've got the right person. We've got the right person. I agree as well.
Sylvester McCorle audition for the role of Parker. I can see a do with it. I can, but I think Ron Kock is excellent. Oh, he is excellent.
He's one of the best things in this. I think him and the Lady Penelope are. They should have done a Lady Penelope of Parker with those two. That would have been good.
Absolutely. Absolutely. The thing that I read that made me chuckle was that apparently Matt Damon or Leonardo DiCaprio were top choices for the role of Alan Tracy. I think that's a movie punching way above his weight.
That's a castings role. That's a casting director who doesn't realise what they're doing. What budget is it? You imagine that script coming across Matt Damon's desk?
The fuck is this? What is this? Yeah. And to promote the movie, you and I replaced a three quarter scale model of Thunderbird 3 in Trafalgar's work.
I kind of remember that it's been on the news actually. Oh, you do. That's sitting outside some Earthport now, apparently. Is it about the same with the same one in the UK?
Yeah. Oh, wow. Because I suppose Thunderbird 3 looks like Thunderbird 3. I mean, the designs of the ships, they look like to me what they look like in the TV.
Yeah, yeah. I don't have a problem with them. Yeah. After the original series, some of the puppets would later go on to star in the Australian soap opera Home and Away.
Just got that. Okay. Did I say too fast? No.
Let's launch into the film. When the world is in danger. We're coming in. Come on.
We turn to the Thunderbirds. Oh. Oh. She's asking me.
When the Thunderbirds are in danger. Who will rescue the risk of? The nature of how interesting is the kid. He's a Tracy.
He's in the thunder ice. So the danger is the danger. Get ready. I'm a new generation of hero.
Thunderbirds. Thunderbirds are go. At beaters delight 30. So we get an iteration with an animated opening with a version of the theme.
What do you think of this interpretation of the famous music? So, okay. They're opening credits. I like the credits because they kind of look like the futuristic and retro at the same time, aren't they?
Yeah. But I'm not too sure about this re-jig theme tune. I'm not keen. I prefer the version that's on the later CGI so it's from the birds I go.
Is that re-jig as well? Yeah, classic. It's beautiful. Okay.
It's weird because I'm pretty sure that at the end of the movie they use the proper version of it. Like the older version of the theme tune. Oh, you stuck around. Oh, you stuck around.
I'm professional. Since when? Since about three hours ago. Oh, right.
Yeah, I didn't like it much. I mean, it's one of those where when, you know, you still kind of get a little bit of a feel. You get the feels in your chest because it's still the same thing. Yeah.
But then you're also thinking, not as good as it. No. No. No.
No. Still, it could have been worse. We could have been listening to the busted Thunderbird song. I forgot about that.
Because that's over the closing credits as well, isn't it? Yeah. Do you know that was a number one single and it won 2004 record of the year in the UK. And all of you out there who bought it should be a shame that yourselves.
Why are you putting your finger at me? I buy it. Interesting. Interesting that in 2004 they were still using the word record.
But all right. Yeah, I don't know if it would have been all CD singles. I mean, the final revolution hasn't had that. That's me.
That's late. Yeah. Yeah. That's that's song is awful.
Tell him he it is. Yeah. So Alan Tracy, he's the youngest of the Tracy family and he's in school in Massachusetts. And oh, he's a dreamer.
Yeah. There's always a black sheep in the family. Isn't there? Is that you?
In yours? You don't know. Oh, sorry. Chiqui.
That's what you're referring to. Well, I refer to myself as the black sheep. Because if I'm like a fan of this, it's like therapy. You usually reveal stuff from it.
It's hidden deep down inside. That'll be later though. All right. Do you ever see something small and insignificant in the film that just has you wondering why?
Such as? The school has lockers outside. It's Massachusetts. Why are you lockers outside?
It raids. You get snow. Aren't they going to be destroyed? Maybe they don't want whatever they put in the lockers to be inside the school.
You know, like guns. You know, fine. Good point. You didn't think of that.
Yeah. So the Thunderbirds are on TV performing a rescue at an idle rate that's on fire. It should say that everyone calls them Thunderbirds in this film, but in the original, they weren't ever referred to as Thunderbirds. They were always called international rescue.
Oh, right. Okay. I did not know that. I did not know that they were never allowed to be filmed in the original series.
That was a thing. What do you mean they were never allowed to be filmed? If they were ever caught on film, it was always had to be wiped. They were never allowed to be seen actually performing a rescue in the original series.
They were a secret organisation. Oh, I see what you mean. Yeah, yeah, yeah. In universe.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. They're not real part. What do you think I was talking about? I mean, technically there is an international rescue that's real, but they don't have Thunderbirds.
No, it's when you say they weren't allowed to be filmed. I'm thinking, well, it works. You see it up. Yeah.
Are you sure you know our TV works? Yeah. Literally college. You know this, okay?
That is true. You're going to tell what you say to me. Yeah. I'm already getting weird vibes from somebody acting in this movie.
What are those weird vibes? Are they vibes of excitement? It's kind of over the top, isn't it? Every performance, particularly the guy playing Alan.
I don't know if he's performing over the top as my... Oh, one. How do I say it? It would be polite.
Not good. Yeah. Look, everything's high in, isn't it? Everything's not quite...
It's not natural. Nobody seems to be acting natural. We are talking about a group of people who work flight giant machines at rescue people. Yeah.
But... But you're still going to have some kind of... What I refer to as the bubble of reality. Yeah.
Yeah. And it doesn't have one. I don't think so. We're only five seconds into it, Paul.
Yeah. You've already disliked to it. I did like seeing the ships. I have to say, when they turn up in a minute, that was good.
You've got to say, for two thousand and four, the CGI in this film is pretty solid. Well, this is the thing. It's shot beautifully this movie. The colors in this movie are fantastic.
I will disagree with you slightly because I say that yellow tint that's on the early parts of this film is horrible. I know it's meant to indicate that he's to the island. He's to the island. That's a new cologne and I'm bringing it out, by the way.
But I was beginning to think I was watching a film remastered in Italy. It was always like sepia everywhere. I can see what you mean, but I didn't bother me. I just thought everything looked rich and really sumptuous.
And I enjoyed that. You talk about the CGI. I think it works really well because... I don't know whether it's because the 2004 CGI wasn't quite there yet, but they kind of look like models.
I see what you're saying. Okay. And that makes it work for me. It gives them a level of solidity.
Yeah, I think so. Yeah. And it's... It doesn't look real.
Okay. It doesn't look real. They don't look like... I was impressed.
Sorry, but I was. Oh, so was I. I make it sound like I wasn't impressed. I was impressed.
It's because of the voice in your face. No, I was impressed because of those reasons because it felt like it felt kind of retro looking. So I think that helped a lot with the movie. It's weird.
We both liked them, but for different reasons. It was a bit of a cross over there. There's a weird intersection of curves, you know. I guess so.
Yeah. So at this school, Lady Penelope turns up to pick up Alan and his friend, Fermat. Imagine what this would have been like at this at Hamdah school. If someone liked Lady Penelope, it turned up.
Yeah, it said. It's going to take two boys with me. Who's the other one that's coming? Yeah, but also, how would it give the cold Fermat of survives in our school?
That's true. That is true. A week at the most direct. Yeah, definitely.
I did like the line when they walk out of the school and she's talking about being discreet and there's a dirty, great, big, huge pink car outside. That's the joke, right? Yeah. It reminded me of that scene in the old Batman TV show when they go into the nightclub and he says, do you want to booth it?
He says, oh no, we just want to remain inconspicuous. Yeah. It's an old gag, but it works well here. Oh, absolutely.
And Sophie Mowes pulls it off brilliantly. Her whole delivery of this is perfect all the way through the movie. She gets the tone of it just right, better than some of the other. Absolutely.
And she said later that she doesn't know what anyone says about this film. This is the most fun she's ever had making a film. You know what? It comes across.
Absolutely. She looks like she's having a great time. Yeah. Apart from the bat scene later, but we'll talk about that.
She didn't like that. I did. Sorry. That's just like that.
What's up? I got Jackson's tibuzzy. No, it wasn't. Okay.
So we got to ask for the San Francisco where the Thunderbirds drop off the rescue diary. But while then, spurts some goo on Thunderbird. Yeah. Goo.
You spurted some goo on a bottle of Thunderbird a few times, isn't ya? I was waiting for that. Was ya? I was waiting for that, yes.
And no, no, no, I haven't called that. Do you want to know when you spurted on a rocket a few times before? That's why they threw you out of the U-Appruined Space Administration. Spotnik, spurnik.
We got any more? No, I'm done. No, I'm done. All right.
It turns out to be a tracking device for the hood. It does. It does. Are we going to talk about Ben Kingsley in a minute?
If you want to do it now, you can do. That's fine by me. It's a bit of a ham, isn't it? I don't even like Ben Kingsley in the matter.
Oh. I know it's hot-tiger, you know. What does Matt Kerboud say? When he's good, he's good, when he's bad, he's gandy.
Something like that, I think. I agree with that, yes. Yeah. Yeah.
I think though, he should have turned it up a bit. It's dialogue needed punching up so that it was funnier and more witty because some of the lines are just not good enough. I think he should have dialed it up. The camp should have been higher.
I know what you mean because there's times in this movie where I can't decide whether he's doing what he's doing on purpose or whether he just doesn't care. Yeah. You know? Because he tosses so many lines off, doesn't he?
You know, it's just, don't look at me like that. You know, he just throws them away. Right. I think somebody else would, but it's a fine line, isn't it, between doing that and making it work and doing that and coming across as just really hammy?
Yeah, you should know. You call me a big ham. How? You take it.
You get hungry now and you think about ham. It's like a cartoon, where now there's just this ham in front of me. I turned into a big ham. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And I was out floating on the smell of the hammy. Yeah, I can see it. Yeah, yeah. Yeah.
I didn't like Ben Kingley. It's maybe at all. Interesting. Do you have an actor who would have been better?
I mean, just Ben Kingley putting my effort into it would have been better, I suppose. Would have been better. That would have been better. 2004?
I don't know. Kevin Spacey. That's the first one that came to mind. I mean, he just got us cancelled.
Good job. I know. Right. Back at Tracy Island, they're all sat around a table.
Do you feel that Bill Paxton looks like the one in a boy band who writes all the songs when he's twice as old as the others, but pretends not to be? Yeah, I can see what you mean. Yeah, no, no, he's played by Anthony Edwards. Very good, very good.
Bill Paxton was a great character, isn't it? It's such a big last one when went. Yes, really. Yeah.
And he did it to do things in this, though. He doesn't normally do. He's very unbuilt Paxton in the carnival. He's not over the top.
He's not the wise cracking guy. He's basically just playing The Swirge Award Hero, isn't he? Yeah, it doesn't get a lot to do. Not really, no.
And that's one of the problems I've got with a lot of the characters in this movie. Right. The long characters, are they? Yeah.
I mean, let's be thankful some of them don't get a lot to do. Yeah, that's true. So learn that the iO rig fire was not an accident. And Alan mucking around in a thunderbird accidentally said, so you think they take the keys out, wouldn't you?
Yeah, you would. Yeah. You think so. Yeah.
We're kids knocking around. But they discover the goo. And we get a line, do you know the importance of secrecy in our organization? So this is the organization where everybody knows the names.
It appears to know that Alan Tracy is related. I mean, I guess he's referring to the location of the island because that's hidden by a shield. But still, doesn't seem to be very secret in this movie version. No, because as you say, the original series, they weren't allowed to be filmed.
So they knew who they were or what they were. But here, they're on the news 24-7, which is presented by Johnathan Grace's wife, oddly. I didn't know that. Yeah, the lady who's the news reader that's always on the spot, or the thunderbirds, is Johnathan Grace's wife.
Oh, all right. You know, we keep talking about this guy that plays Alan. Yeah, we do. Well, it turns out you like a ruthless, doesn't it, really?
I mean, don't forget this is early in his career and he's young. He's just got a lot, he's got, he's carrying the film, basically, which is a lot of his shoulders for young kids, isn't he? Although, I kind of think the two that are with him, Fermat and Tintin, are much better than he is. Oh, absolutely.
The young kid. He's great. He's so natural as well. Yeah.
Yeah, definitely. So, Alan doesn't get the chance to his dad about the goo-hoo, because he's grounded. And so we have this well-troned storyline of the son of Favour, and we've had to answer each other, one, an Arbonne, Griseled, Small-Minded, Bit-A-Man, and the other, a dancer. Oh, sorry.
I got lost every second. Yeah, different movie, that different movie. Yeah. This is another problem with this movie.
You can see where it's going, can't you? Yes, yes. That storyline is just terrible. It's been done.
It's been done to death. And then we've, you know, we learn about John. Tracy, it's all in his own Thunderbird Five in space. What did he do?
Did they make him go? Did he choose to go? Which one you think about it is much worse? Oh, I don't know.
This is my dream job. Being on a space station. Oh, by yourself, not into having to interact with anyone, apart from when you're on the radio, talking to your brother. Right.
Bliss, so it's like bliss to me. Let's not take this job in a heartbeat. I think we could arrange to have you sent it to space. What?
Oh, yeah. You and Elon, hey? You like that, aren't you? LAUGHTER I've heard.
Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We'll learn that format is Brain's son. Yeah, Anthony Edwards is Brain's.
You don't like him? I just see Anthony Edwards. It's just... Well, I mean, it is Anthony Edwards.
I know, but I would have preferred someone that... It's just Anthony Edwards. I just... I couldn't get past it.
I couldn't get past that it's Anthony Edwards. I don't think it's all that good, isn't it? Oh, really? It's a bit weak.
I don't know what it's all about. Yeah, I didn't like that either. So this goo is a tracking device created by the HUD, so that they can find work at Tracy Island days. I should also point out that in the original series, it was never called Tracy Island.
