You are now listening to the UK and the World's Faber Wrestling podcast. Archie and Russell, with your host Andy and Emma. I'm not! I'm...

We're off. It's Sunday. It is Sunday. Happy Sunday.

Well, I was about to say about a chill that week, but it's not. It's true. You have only had one day off. Yes.

However, how did you all know how to... ..have a bit of nice lamb? Lambdinden. Of course.

I'm just starting to feel full because I've walked in about five minutes. You did eat that in record time. It's usually me, who's the person who eats really quite rapidly. I'm terrible with tapas, I would imagine, because I eat really quickly.

I could just easily clear it's able. I think my... What would you call it? It was like Sky Rocket in the last two weeks.

I know this isn't amazing for the podcast, however, it's always interesting to know. Were you a rapid eater as a child? No. I was a rapid eater.

The reason why I asked is because I remember a family Christmas dinner and it was like, Auntie's uncle's parents, they're the grandparents. My granddad, who was a little Polish guy, used to eat so quick that it was like frightening. Was it because he was going to get the fuck away from everyone? Maybe.

But he used to eat like... Like it was literally a Christmas dinner would be gone in a minute. And I was always the second after him to finish everything. Whenever I went to the end of the book, Jesus, Jim, are you hungry?

Like, yes? Yeah, I was. I was in eight hours for this morsel. I've been up since four o'clock this morning waiting for Santa.

I'm from the presents. I'm starving. I'm starting to crack open them selection boxes, but I weren't allowed. I don't know.

I don't really know. You don't really think about it. I think you know, when somebody points it out. Well, maybe because we're both rapid eaters, we don't notice.

Yeah. We're in an hour of restaurants pretty quick, isn't it? Normally. That's true.

Not in about fucking 12 years. Yeah, it's kind of the last time you and I sat down at a restaurant, actually. I can't remember. So what have we done this week?

Jack Shit, really? I've got watched a lot of wrestling. Played a bit of an octopath traveller, which is a very good game. Just what I needed.

Some final fantasy esque. You know, crappy eight-bit type art style. Sorry, I keep the table. You're right.

I've got a creakiest chair in the world. It's always creak. I always notice it when we do the podcast, but it's so bloody creaky. Yeah.

Okay. Okay. You'll forgive us. I want you guys to play a bit of video games.

I've watched a bit of wrestling, which we'll get into. So let's start, shall we? Ladies and gentlemen, hello and welcome once again to RTM Wrestling's episode 155. How are you doing?

I hope you're all well. I hope you're all safe. I hope you're all getting immunized. If you can, still not add our numbers drawn yet, but hopefully soon enough soon enough.

And if you don't believe in the immunizations and we'll probably talk later on about somebody who definitely doesn't believe in the immunizations, then don't fucking come anywhere near me. That's all I've got to say. So let's start the show with a sad, well, sad, depending on who you're talking to, jubilant in some cases, but death in the wrestling community. So New Jack, one of the most memorable figures in pro wrestling and a focus of a dark side of the ring episode passed away on Friday, 58, 22, is going to say it's due to a heart attack.

His wife, Jennifer, was the one who posted it, living in North Carolina at the time of his death. And there's a go from me, which at the last time I checked, I think we're looking to rate $50,000 and they're about seven and a half, with not that many people donating. So there's quite a lot of like two and a half granders and stuff like that. So obviously, you know, just for his expenses, like his funeral expenses and that kind of thing.

Yeah, probably, you know, if you got Russian's hospital or something. But yeah, so I've seen quite a few people talking about Paul Heyman did, I think, something I'm talking to Mark, where he was saying about ECW original. I really only remember New Jack from beyond that, because he was quite a large part of that when he was trying to get acting jobs and that kind of stuff. So I only really came across New Jack in my early life of beyond that, you know, going on there saying that he's got a justifiable homicide.

So I kind of shit. I've seen the bit of the, I've not watched a full episode, we'll see the bit of the dark side of the ring where he legit tried to kill a wrestler. Now I remember who he is. Yeah.

When the news broke, I was a bit like, I know the name, I can't put any stories to the name because I didn't see ECW apart from in retrospect on documentaries and whenever we've gone back and watched the old show. So it didn't really stick out to me, but now I know exactly what it means. We talked about that fairly recently. Yeah, because I saw the clip on YouTube of the dark side of the ring episode.

I can't remember the reason why he does it. I think I think he got injured by somebody or somebody was a bit unsafe or something like that. So we had, you had another, you had a match with this guy and I can't remember his name, but you know, they were talking before and then the guy was like, we all cool. Is everything all right?

You know, because of what happened previously, he was like, yeah, yeah, they're cool. Goes into the match and he has a taser down his pants. Oh yeah. They climb up to the top of this fucking scaffolding.

He tases the guy and throws him off it. And it's one of the most dangerous things I've seen. You know, the guy's like pretty much out cold. Not out cold, but like he's fuzzing him a bit.

And the way he sort of goes off the top of this thing. It looks like he was already out because he's kind of stopped before and he just doesn't. He just bounces off everything on the way down. And yeah, so that's why I said, you know, depending on what you talk to, it's even good news or bad news.

The people that I respect, like people like Lance Storm and Hayman to a degree, I've had nothing but good things to say about him. And I think it's one of them. But it is, you know, nobody should be dying that young. You know, I've not seen him do anything wrestling wise or not heard his name or I've not seen any sort of ratchet stuff about him.

I think the last thing I saw was his, I think he's got a transgender kid who kind of took up at him and saying like he's never been around. But he was a legit gangster. You know, he did kill people. He's got justifiable homicides if you can even say that.

So, you know, but yeah, new Jack's passed away this week. So it is sad to see anybody go with that young, you know, no matter what the background story is or anything like that. So yeah, there's a go for me up, go and give it to it if you feel that way inclined. I'm sure they'll get 50 grand, because I think it was up for about half an hour and I looked at him at seven.

So yeah, it is dead south. So things watch this week. But I know each have not put up a new TV show. Normally they've been doing it on Fridays, but I've got a bit about last Friday's.

But yeah, it's weird. Like they've got their own, it's not like they're on TV. It's through the Ona Club thing that I watch it, but it's free anyway. You know, you don't have to pay for the weekly TV spots.

But last Friday's I thought was top. Such a fun time watching that. So the tag team EC3 and Flip Gordon against the Briscoes. That was great coming off the back of that pay-per-view where EC3 made a great kind of storyline around the code of Ona to the shaking of the hand start with.

That was top and he does it straight away in this one. Brian Johnson, who I've never really seen before, only impasted in certain matches, caught a fucking awesome promo. I know the fact that they filmed, but it was a fantastic promo. He comes out, Dan Howleson, who's like the flavour of the week for me at the moment.

I've watched a shitload of Dan Howles and shit over the last couple of days. Reveals PCO as a mystery opponent. That's great. So it seems to be PCO and Dan Howles and now I've tagged team, which is going to be comedy for days.

And the main event, which is something they've been building off a week, was Angelina Love. If anyone remembers that and doesn't watch Arrow H, all TNA, the beautiful people like tag team. Can't remember who the person was she was with. What a name was.

That escapes me. But they were a tag team anyway. I think she's married to Billy Ray. Anyway, Angelina Love against Quinn McKay, who's the host in backstage interview.

That was a really fun match, distraction finish. I'm sure Quinn McKay is going to get another shot to get into this women's world title tournament on the doing, which I don't know if it's, I don't think they've started, but they've announced quite a few people that I've written that. Yeah, I thought it was great. I had so much fun watching it.

Like from start to finish, and this week I've been really like, oh, you know, good. So now, sure, I think it's good. It's an hour. It's an hour long.

You rip through it. You don't see the same people twice on the on in consecutive, because I've gone back and watched a few. And there is different people on the show every week, other than the commentators and this Quinn McKay used the host. You do see different people.

So I think that's why I was really up for it because they have the banditos for men can act from the week before. And that was awesome. So yeah, I don't know what they're doing now though, but I wanted to talk about that. But obviously not.

So let's get something we both watched. AEW. That's the only other thing I've watched this week. So not go around to NXT.

Because I can't be fucking bad. From all accounts, it was a good show, but I just couldn't bring myself to watch it. And I don't know why, but we'll talk about that later because apparently quite a lot of people can bring themselves to watch it. So it starts off Mox versus Nagata for the IWGP US headweight title.

It was great. Moved it all apart from the ending. Rush ended. Completely rush ended.

Joar, the first hour, and I've said this to you, like, piss me off. So AEW getting in the neck a little bit this week because they did piss me off on a few occasions during this dynamite. For someone who's 53, Nagata looks pretty good. If I can move, I mean, I know what it is, you could tell it was tough for him to kind of move about.

But, oh God, if I was that sprightly in the 50s, I'll be fucking buzzing. But he rushed to finish. He read the reader, he was around the outside, that was cool. He's LA doe-dow-dow-dow on top on.

Yeah, I thought it was really good back and forth kind of match. And then Moxie just picks him up and he's in a couple of times, then DDT's in. That's it. And I was a bit like, what?

But I liked all the bad women and all the stuff. Go and get up on the top rope, Nagata, and he wouldn't do it. So I thought that. But yeah, so that's my new Japan geeky moment of the week.

Right, we can both talk about this. Cully Rhodes. Do you know what I'm saying? I did put that down and I glossed over it.

Do you think it's a one and done thing? Do you think he was doing that? Or do you think that is his new entrance music? Wild thing by the trucks?

So it's tough because I'm going to give you my opinion, obviously. And you obviously give me yours. But I've seen loads of people buzzing about it. Yeah, people really, you and I are in a minority.

Because I think we both on the same page with it in that it's fucking lame. OK, if it is, you know, Axel, Jmo, did tweet and say that it was... I need to. Yeah, it was kind of...

Not in tribute, that sounds a bit wrong, but you know what I mean? Yeah, it was a tip of the cup. Yes. So potentially it was a one and done.

But if it isn't a one and done, I'll tell you my thoughts on it. I don't like music, but it's too on the nose. And the Jungle Boy song kind of skirts it for me. It's very, very, very close.

But the whole, like, that shit. That's what you've seen in it for. You've not seen it for Jungle Life. At that point, I just want to kill myself.

But like, wild thing for Moxley is really lame. It's the wild thing. It's just head to Ebe for me. It's just a bit too on the nose, a little bit too Ebe.

The song itself is incredibly slow and doesn't get going. And I used to love that song. I'm a huge, huge, huge fan. Like probably my favourite genre of music is Old Rock.

I love all that shit. A bit of free. I like jazz. You start there and you made them talk.

I mean, I love Old Rock music. I really do. I'm a great song. I don't have a few compilation lists and things.

But I just think for a wrestling entrance, it doesn't quite fit for anybody. Unless they were a very big, slow person walking in. Then maybe, maybe it fits. But for Mox, it's a bit, I don't know, because he's quite a frenetic guy.

And I just find that on a lot of levels. I think because as well, I've got the whole fucking Dean Ambrose. He's a fucking loony of whatever the hell, you know, the Ambrose Asylum and all that shit. I've still got that that was just so lame in my head.

And then when he comes up to Wild Thing, I'm like, oh, God, we get it. We get it. Like, come on, can we just do it better? So I'm kind of hoping it's a one and done and that isn't a permanent song because it's just each the way for me.

That's where I'm at, to be brutally honest. And I know I'm in the minority. More both in the minority because I've seen so many people losing it over this. And I don't get it.

Like, if Mox had started, so this is the key point for me. You know, it's not a case of changing Jungle Boys music and changing, you know, all those guys. It's a case of changing best friends music because they go back and forth, which is fucking mad. So just a little detour onto the best friends is Pixies.

Where is my mind? I think so. They go back and forth with it. It's like one week, obviously Orange Cassidy will always come out to it.

But we go back and forth. So I was like, oh, so you know, Chuck Taylor or whatever comes out from match and it's playing the Pixies. I'm like, okay, so it's everybody's, you know, Kristallander comes out, you know, and the play in the Pixies right is everybody's music now. It's not just Orange Cassidy's.

And then like the week later, it goes back to best friends again. Yeah, very good. And I'm like, what? Like, so you can't fucking make up your mind about which one you want to use.

And again, I think it's hard really because I can always think to myself, like, well, think about this way too much. And you guys know it doesn't take a lot to jam me out of anything. But you know, from listening to like, you know, other podcasts and things like Alvarez and all that kind of stuff, you think about it even more deeply than I do. Because there's some things that they say and they just go, and I just think to myself, why the fuck you asked about that?

Like, why is that talking about everybody's got their own nickel, haven't they? Yeah, like a huge, huge niggles that are nothing to a lot of people, but they feel quite massive and they can throw you off the whole show. Joe, absolutely. You're absolutely right.

And this match for me was a big deal. Like I was like, because obviously New Japan's kind of closed at the moment, they've been able to come back, which I'll get to a bit later because of that. I was really looking forward to this match. And for the first like five minutes of it, I was like, fucking fuming, but not fuming to probably two strong words.

But when you watch something like this, and again, you know, to bring up the three heads comment, you know, people look at us and think we're fucking do we because we like wrestling. Even though in America, you know, we came, we're coming off the back of a week where wrestling over three different nights was the number one thing on cable. Even though they can't shift any advertising money like these other things, can like the NBA and that kind of thing, even though they're getting more viewers. I'm sure it's the demographic viewers and that kind of thing, but you know, who knows.

But I don't respond well when they do something that makes me cringe. And when I'm cringing, I'm thinking, God, if people are watching this, I know it's one of them things where like, and I don't care what people think. I think if any wrestling fund cared, what people think they wouldn't be wrestling fund. So I think as a unit, as a group of people, we're all quite strong willed.

But when they do something to make me feel cringy, I feel let down. Yeah, I know what you mean. Yeah, and it's tough because like, so my opinion on the wild thing entrance is not that it's not very good. It fucking sucks.

It's rubbish. Like, as soon as that started, I was like, why, why think? Yeah, why think? It's like, why are you doing that?

Like, why have you changed it? Because it jarred me out and it jarred me out. And it was like, right, what's what's your kind of goal with this? I understand it's a nod to the, you know, the Exploding Bad by Deathmatch guy, which I've not seen reported.

I've only seen it as like a, you know, Axel J-Modes said it towards, and I've seen a couple of people say, oh, it used to use it. That's fine. He used to use it. That's absolutely fine.

And Mox, for me at the moment, is winding me up a little bit because I did put it as one of the stories about kind of talking to AlkaSparke, you know, can't be pitching about every single news story. But he's turning up on GCW, right, which for fans of Deathmatch Wrestling is great. But he's turned up like two or three times now to scrap with this gauge guy who was on Dark Side of the Ring, I think, at his own episode. I've never seen anything to do with that.

So my instant reaction is why bother because there's about 20 people there. But that's a bit harsh. 250 people are both of these shows I've seen, not seen, but seen the clips on YouTube and stuff. And I think to myself, like, why are you bothering doing that?

But I can think that. I, as a critic, as a fan, I can think to myself, like, why are you thinking of mutilating yourself in front of like 200 people? Like, it just doesn't make any sense. It doesn't make any business sense whatsoever.

But obviously he doesn't care about that, which makes it great because he, you know, he's obviously got a thing for this. The problem with Mox is he's got too much going on. And I'm, you know, I'm looking at this, this is the Gata match and thinking, oh, this is going to be great. And it was great and it lived up to my expectations.

You know, the finisher side, I thought it was a top match and the guy cuts in with one of his elbows and obviously by mistake and all that kind of shit. But he's doing too much. And to sort of segue it off into what the new story was going to be, is that Omega, not Omega, the Young Bucks and Mox and Kingston are going to have a tag team title match to blow up him. I don't, and again, in the minority, I can't care less about that because I don't think Mox and any Kingston are going to win the tag team titles.

So they're putting him on, they're putting him in there to put him in there. And obviously the Mox and Kingston stuff has been really funny and really great entertaining TV. If that's the case, get that IWGP US title off him because if he's not going to defend that regularly, because I thought to myself, oh, you know, he's already done one on strong against cancer. Now he's done one on dynamite against the gala.

You know, in the next few months, he might be able to go over to Japan and do all that kind of shit. It's like Mox is everywhere at the moment. It's completely everywhere. And it's like just concentrate on one or two things because I feel like he's spreading himself too thin because if Mox and Kingston win the tag team titles, I double nothing.

Well, they're the faces. So I'm supposed to be cheering for them, but I don't want them to win because if they win the tag team titles, he ain't coming out with that IWGP US title again. And I understand like, and the ratings kind of prove it that no one gives a fuck about NuJapam. He watches AW2 degree.

Nobody cares. I've not seen any, nobody's tweeted us saying, holy shit, can't wait for this nigga. No one. It's only me because I'm watching it as well.

And I don't want him to be the tag team champion because of what I see him defend that IWGP title on strong or on dynamite, but he won't if he's the tag team champions. So there's loads of things that I've pissing me off at the moment. I just little niggas. I'm like, why?

Why are you bothering? And that wild thing was a tipping point for me because I was just like, it's rubbish. It's absolutely rubbish. And I understand like, you know, people think it's great that they're getting actual music.

But Mox is entrance to the game is a decent song. Yeah. You know, it kind of gets you going to get you into it. And he's like, right, here comes Moxley.

I just can't imagine everybody, you know, he comes out and it's a big lie crowd. And they're all singing two marks. Wow. You make my heart sing.

You make everything groovy. I think I love you. Like I just can't. It's just I know I'm taking it very literally there.

You are. But there are words that like are obviously sung about a woman who's sending somebody wild. And it's weird to sing it to John Moxley as a wrestling fan. I just don't know.

It's like, I know that it shouldn't be taken out literally. We've sang so many fucking songs that mean nothing to the wrestlers to there. But that one in particular, it does sound and I know I'm going to, you know, I know I sound quite bad. It sounds like a song a woman would come out to.

Or maybe even that War Horse guy, whatever he was called, you know, the rock guy, you know, if he was more famous, maybe he'd come out to that and it would be funny to sing it to him. It's either funny or it's being sung to a female who's playing up to that character. And again, I know that's really singular minded to say, but it's just not something I would sing when John Moxley's there. It's just a bit weird.

I just don't think I could ever hear myself joining in with that. No. And now you've potentially got like, so we're talking about like the potential UK dynamite or UK AW show. Then you've got an obviously the crowd will partake in all of these factors, but you've got John Moxley's Wild Thing, plus sing along to that.

We'll be single onto the Fixies thing who knows. They'll sing Jungle Boy and they'll sing Judas. You're showing the same angle too many times. Like you shouldn't think to yourself about how many of these can we get in then?

And I don't think they've done Wild Thing to the point of like getting people to sing along. But they absolutely would though if it became his song because everybody knows the words. Yeah, I hope they don't. I'm thinking and I'm hoping that it's going to be a one and done thing.

Or maybe something that's his new sort of like new Japan sort of theme. Well, it's new Japan theme. It's just like it is really slow. But new Japan won't pay for that royalties.

That's a flat song. Yeah, it just it kind of threw me off and then I've gone back and watched the match again. And I'm still annoyed by the end of him. I think the fundamental thing is again, I'm not taking it quite seriously.

But the fundamental thing for me would be this, you and I would be having this conversation if things were explained. But they're not explained. So it's a bit like he comes out. The commentators all these say is did I hear the tribes then?

And they don't make any mention of it. He, to my knowledge, hasn't done an interview going, I was paying tribute. There's no acknowledgement of it. So we're all to think, oh, that's his song then.

And it's all just a little bit jarring and confusing. And as I say, a lot of people think it's great and it's a really good choice. And I would never ever turn around to them and say it's not a good choice. Just personally for me.

I just think it's quite lame for him. It would work for somebody else, which is not for Moxley. I think a criticism of AEW at the moment, as I'm saying, AEW, is that when they hit upon a good idea, they kind of ragged it to death. And I think with changing Orange Cassidy's music and that being a big thing and done a couple of things like that where they've kind of licensed something else.

So the Jungle Boy thing was the first one that I was scrapping around for. And the Jungle Boy one was great. Because I'd never heard that song before. No, I hadn't.

It's probably a really famous song. Yeah, I'm sure it is. I'm sure it is a famous song. But I'd never heard it before.

And I was like, oh, that really fits. And then they've gone to Orange Cassidy and done a pixies thing, which I was like, that doesn't fit for me. But when he kind of comes out, I'm like, yeah, OK, I kind of get it. And now this is like, just stop.

Just put your checkbook away. Just stop. Like, I don't, these things that you're swapping and changing are not issues. Like Moxley's music wasn't an issue.

Orange Cassidy's music wasn't an issue. Jungle Boy in theory, you know, doing that. And it's quite a fun thing because obviously people can't single answer the questions. I can't even put that.

What's that? It was just like a bit film music-y. A bit epic. Yeah, I feel like the moment that they're off the rails and they're trying to throw so much stuff at the show.

And there's so many people on it. And it's like, second half, second half, second half, second half, second half, second half, second half. Which is great. But they don't escape criticism.

You know, they absolutely don't escape criticism. And I thought, wow, thing was shit. I was just like, right, OK. If this is the way we're going to go, what is it?

Like, Sting's got to come out to some like fucking mad song at some point. Or like that. I think Darby's song- It's a message in a bottle. I don't get that.

That's the police, actually. It's not a thing. Oh, yeah. Yeah.

Your last twisting song, that one. I just can't speak in about you. The only things I know about a love it. Your first song.

There's nothing like a song which doesn't change tempo. No way back through fires to be the main, the main, the main. I'm not saying just say the same tempo all the way through a love it. Yeah, I just, I don't know.

Let's get this. Let's get these all the cringe-worthy shit out. Cody Rhodes. So I don't have any kind of thought on the content.

Because he was obviously trying to put over the fact that he's going to be American Dream at this paper do. My major issue with it is the length. It went on for fucking ever. And he's talking, and he's talking, and he's talking, and I don't give a shit how good he is at delivering.

But he's going on, and on, and on, and on about shit that is just, doesn't have anything to do with what he's trying to put across. Can I, can I kind of make a point about what I particularly really despised about this promo? Is that, is a one note promo guy? He's crying.

He's always doing something weird. He's like, fuck off mate. I hate that. I hate that it's that one note constantly.

Like he always sounds like he's about to cry. And what I hated about this promo is he didn't do enough to put over the match and to put over Anthony Oggogo. And I'm not saying put him over saying he's fantastic. Well, saying he shit puts him over as a heel.

Exactly. He talked about himself, his life. And I just thought this is a very long promo, like you said. But he didn't sell the match.

Like, and that is the aim of a promo. A good promo. You defend yourself. You get everybody cheering because you're the face and you sell the match.

So I want to fucking see it. I didn't give a shit about the match. I forgot that he was talking about Anthony Oggogo because I don't even know every man she's fucking name. Well, like, he didn't want to.

He didn't do a good enough job for me. He was too busy talking about himself and then going off on a tangent and talking about random shit. Because it is random in the, in the, in the scheme of what that matches, which is, Foreigner versus American person, which I hate anyway. I believe I probably put it in room 101.

I hate it. It's really lazy. It's really boring. However, on the flip side, Anthony Oggogo is a green wrestler.

So it's a very easy thing for him to come and do because he can come and deliver that and he can go on Twitter and perpetuate it. And it's not complicated. It's a very easy first story to be involved in of I'm British and I'm just like, I'm from America. I can do that.

It's really easy. And that's fine. Whatever. If you want to do it, fair enough.

However, Cody's job in that promo was to make me give a shit. And I don't, I'm not a person sat in England going, well, I've got a cheer for Anthony Oggogo. I've never done that. I've always cheered for the American person because that's the only supposed to cheer for.

I don't care. Like this whole country pride shit. Country pride is that like a sources or home pride. Home pride.

Oh yeah. Yeah. But like I've never had that kind of firm or some them vibe. Yeah, what they're going for usually.

I'm always on the side of the face apart from Rousseau's whatsoever. But the Roman Reigns never cheer out fucker. No, that's true. But I just don't think Cody.

I think I understand when people say what a fantastic promo because the man can deliver a promo. It's one note, but he can deliver a promo very, very well. And I do think that he has a few things he's head he wants to say. But he's not scripted.

I think he goes out with a few things. I think he builds to a crescendo even though I personally think it starts at the top and just goes even higher. But he comes out and delivers it well. However, the content of what he delivers, I don't think it sells anything.

100%. And that's what I have a problem with. And he didn't sell that match. And that was his only job.

And he talks for a long time. He still didn't sell that match. He sold Cody Rhodes. He sold his wife and he sold his unborn child.

But he didn't sell an Anthony Oggogo match. No. And that's a bit of an issue for me. And you said to me whilst we're watching it.

The key line that you should have come out with failed boxer. Why didn't you rag on him for it? Because they got on about like, oh yeah, bronze medal award winning Olympic boxer. It's bronze.

Yeah. It's so easy. He could have attacked him. He could have gone really personal and attacked him.

Which is what you should do in those. Look at the rock. The rock never came out. And you know, because the rock came out and he did a lot of promos.

And he always talks about himself and the third person. And he did put himself over. However, his whole promo was built around. Slagging off the other person.

And he bring himself in sweat at the right time. It was like a dance. Like he brought himself in sweat at the right time to get everyone to pop. And everyone to like get really galvanized.

But unfortunately, it was a bit political speak. A bit selling me as Cody Rhodes. And selling my life and what, you know, my fucking reality show maybe. But it didn't sell the fucking match.

Which is the whole point of a promo. If you're given that much time. I don't believe there's anybody else who is a good talker who would do that. 100%.

Like when you talk about like, you know, the great promos at the moment. Like, and Jeff's a fantastic promo. He's always pointing down his opponent to make it. You're interested in him getting the shit kicked out of it.

That's basically what you want. And I'm totally with you. Like he didn't do anything. The last thing thought, you know, political stuff aside because it's not.

And you know, and you can be as cringe, you know, you can think it's as cringe worthy as anything that they cut to like one white guy in the crowd wearing a black lives, but a tee shirt. And that was 100% sell up. Yeah. And it was just, I was like, okay, you know, you can't even do this properly.

It felt, it felt all the political stuff felt forced. It felt like again, he's just selling himself. Yeah. Sorry.

That's totally under some why because he wants to. And he's obviously got a load of things that he cares about and all that kind of stuff. And it's great to hear it because it but it's a bit like your Facebook group. And I sort of mentioned this as well.

It sounded like when you go on Facebook and you've got all your mates and all your mates and like similar minded to yourself. And they're saying shit like, oh, come on guys, we all need to be vaccinated. So yeah, yeah, I know we're all going to be vaccinated. He's kind of preaching to the converted and didn't do anything front.

You know, go talky points coming out this match for better or worse was the political shit he said and the fact that people are going nuts saying like why is he doing why is he talking about that at all. He as well, when he's right to talk about anything like that. And he is more qualified to talk about stuff like that than anybody else because obviously, you know, Brandi. Happened like people.

Yeah. Yeah, but he's more than me. Like if I, you know, if he wants to do that, that's brilliant. You know, go and do it.

But the main talking points coming out of this promo were the political stuff he said and the fact that everybody was like fucking goosebumpt cringed about it. And the fact that he's going to be called the American dream. Yeah, which, which should have been the that should have been the which he kind of delivered it as the last line. And it should have been the punch in the gut line that got the big J.

And he did get a big cheer. Unfortunately, took away from his the big moment for him. If he would have spent the entire time talking about like sliding off a go go putting himself over, you know, like obviously actually do, but mainly we're going to go go into it. And then he ends it by because the thing is the whole like I'm the American dream is the punch line.

If it was a joke and you were comedian, that's your punch line, but he was doing it from the start. So when he said it at the end, everyone knew what was coming. Yeah. And it was like that's the delivery like the delivery as I say, like aside from my personal preferences, it's one no.

The delivery is what it is. But the content was all over the show. And he didn't like psychologically. It didn't build.

I do think MJF is a great person who builds to a massive point where he's screaming. He starts very measured. He starts angry, but he starts measured and he builds and builds and builds and he delivers that killer line at the end of it. And the same way Jericho delivers a killer line at the end of it.

You know, and I think maybe Cody needs to like binge load a J to snake stuff to just bring himself down to just be just to get that like he needs a bit of shade to the light. Really? Like he does? He's always on like this high, high and level.

And it's too much because his words then lose him all impacts because he comes in, all guns blazing for one of the better phrase. And it all loses it. It all just becomes the same emotional, shouty thing. So then at the end, when he does say he's the American dream, everyone's exhausted.

I'm exhausted now because you've just ranted at me. You've just told me that, you know, like America has solved segregation. You've literally, you've just told me that when you go in against someone who's black, who in Britain, the state of America, you've just told me that. And that guy's done quite a lot for himself and building self a career and got an over racism and stuff.

It just seemed like a bit of a botch. Like it was all just not very well thought out. Again, I'd say deliver it. You know, he can do a promo, but I just think he needs to engage with someone who is an expert in that to map it out for him.

Because don't think he's good enough to make his own promos. I'm totally with you. And the suit and stuff, there's nothing, you know, he's playing the super face card with all his political stuff. And he's trying to score brownie points with that promo, in my opinion.

And it's, you know, there's nothing that he says we disagree with, obviously, because nobody in the right mind would. But he didn't do anything to make me give a fucking shit about this match. I can't care less. Do you know what should have happened?

Anthony Gogo should have come out with the microphone. It's like, it's like an off the US. Then he should have come out, had to go at him and then delivered like the end bit and said he's the American dream. Mike dropped him off and made the ad to sort of like, it just was weird.

He just came out on his own and addressed it. It's like, why are you addressing all this? Like, I understand it's very weird. It was just to me, it wasn't great at all.

It was a real low point of the night. Yeah, I'm with you on that. So Young Books vs. SCU.

SCU had to disband if they lost. It was great much. It was always going to be a great match. But again, another ticking the piss me off box.

They may have run over the time. They may have not applied. There's no way. And again, it's, he's come out and said Daniel's like that could be it.

Because obviously, SCU lost and they can't tag anymore. But he's actually tweeting saying that might be it for me. That might be the end of it. And you know, he's bleeding all over the place.

And they didn't show really the fallout. And they should have given him at least 30 seconds. Because the crowd is chanting an SCU. Like, wow, the pines in the back.

For some segment or whatever it was. And it just, again, it just frustrated me. I was like, what? So I'm getting frustrated by every segment of my card.

That's what the first hour was. Like a bit of a... It fell flat in a few different ways. It fell flat kind of one after the other, which was unfortunate.

Because it doesn't set you up for the second hour very well when you're like, oh God. Yeah, yeah. And everything just wasn't quite clicking for me. And I don't know whether it was just because of the mood.

I was in watching it maybe or something like that. But it just wasn't clicking for me this week. And the fact that they didn't show, because regardless of whether or not Christopher Daniels is going to be retiring. These two guys aren't fucking jokes.

They're like big time wrestling for years and years. Been attacking for years and years and years. And they should have got some time to kind of posture to the crowd. They did a hug and things like that, which got a second of airtime.

And it was just like, what the fuck is going on with this show? Why does everything seem so rushed? It was like, Bree Balor all over again. Just didn't get a moment.

Fucking talk to me. No, she should have done. She should have got that. You shouldn't have been seeing her on women's shoulders.

For the pre-cuts to a break on it. Through the armpit of Michael Cole. The crowd are chanting yes. She should have had that moment.

If you're not going to be talking about it. She came back anyway. She came back since. But still, I mean, that was like the moment of going.

But I do have a real bug there with not letting people have a little bit of a moment. Because what backstage segment is that important? Well, I can't even remember what it fed into, but it might have fed into a bit of a break of thing, but that was great anyway. Yeah.

Anyway, but yeah. Next we've got Pack Against Orange Cassidy. They can't catch a break on this show. Christ, it's one thing after a fucking other.

So Pack super kicks Orange Cassidy in the face. It's the point where he looked out. I didn't even notice it. I just thought it was a bit of a weird moat.

I just thought, what the fuck are they doing? Yeah. Yeah. So I think the way they kind of called it, so Packets are super kick.

He hits the deck and he looks in a bad way. And then he gets power bombed. It's the point where he goes onto the back of his head again because he doesn't stop himself. He's like a wet noodle.

Like getting slammed on the back of his head again. And then that's pretty much it. You know, the calling, you know, the audible, the call to get a maker out there quicker and to hit Pack. I thought it was fine.

I thought it was absolutely fine. You know, a lot of people are again giving that shit. But it's one of them where you got to pick and choose, aren't you? But I thought sending a maker out earlier in Callis was a great kind of waiter to get Orange out of there without having to do anything else because they were kind of sat in a headlock for a little bit because he had so much time left and it was just like, oh God, what's going on here?

Because he looked odd and you could tell something wasn't right. But that leads to a triple threat in the pay-per-view, which was always what I was supposed to be. So it's a 20 minute draw and time is supposed to run out and then a maker in Callis come on, go, oh, well, it's like the night off and then they called the triple threat anyway. I know I'm having like a bit of a bad show when Don Callis comes out.

I've really been like, oh, here he is. I love that guy. I just feel like when everybody comes in, I'm like, oh, thank God. It's like how I used to feel about Paul Heyman.

I just go, oh, fucking God. Somebody's here. Somebody's here. That's funny.

Well, yeah, I've kind of put a question on here. So triple threat match. I'm not a huge fan of triple threat matches, but I think they've got their place. Well, this one seems a little bit odd because obviously Kenny's not losing the belt any time soon.

So I think that on this week's or next week's dynamite, they're going to say maybe it's elimination rules. That's what I would prefer it to be. I think it has its place though, because again, I've heard loads of people going about fucking triple threat matches and I'll shit they are. It's a WWE thing.

Yeah, that was going to be more vulnerable. One of people say it's a WWE thing. Like when someone shit, they say it's a WWE thing. It's like, well, no, people do it.

But the two ways, historically, that you can do a triple threat match. One is the WWE kind of way, or most people's way, and that is one form. And I thought it's a reasonable thing because it's the heel who's the champion. If it's the face, that's the champion.

I don't think it works. But when it's the heel champion and the heels come out and smack pack over the back of the head, it's like, well, actually now you've got to face it in a triple threat and the pack could pin orange gazette and you lose your belts. It's great because the heel goes into the pay-per-view being pissed off. And then when Omega wins, he can say he beat two people.

And the other way to do it is the ECW 3-way danceway, where it's elimination. So once one pin falls happen, that person goes and it's a one-on-one match after that. Again, the heel goes into it pissed off because he has to face two people. And again, he can say he beat two people.

So that puts him in an even bigger of a strong place because he can say, ah, you threw your number one and number two ranked guy at me. And I beat him both. So who the fuck's left? And then that's when Paige, or someone, I can make it a cent.

So Daniel Bryan wanted that kind of circumstance where Orton was a champion and he tapped out Batista. And nobody, I think, would argue that that didn't work. But I am in some way in agreement with the champion should always be beat. But when it's a heel champion and he has gone out of his way, and I know this is not what was supposed to happen, but he did.

He came out and he interfered to try and storyline-wise. Does Marifor and Justin was out in the cold and audible dumbballer? But storyline-wise, he came in and interfered to try and stop that match from happening. So we didn't have to face either of him.

And now he's in a position where he could lose the title if he gets pinned, if the other one pins the other one. But who knows? They might not go that far. They might not say, oh, this is what we're going to do.

We're going to do it in Triple Threat rules where it's one pinfall. They might not do that. They might say elimination. But for a heel, I think it works.
