155. The Royal Tenenbaums with special guest Donovan Marcotte

"I always wanted to be a Tenenbaum, you know?"  We watched The Royal Tenenbaums (2001) with our friend Donovan Marcotte and we're all of us especially *not* a genius. This "quirky" family dramedy is peak Wes Anderson and quote possibly his best film.  Fight us.  We all laugh a little too nervously as Gene Hackman's Royal Tenenbaum eviscerates with words everyone in his path - even his children and ex wife (too real?). Are every hipster couple in their Margot and Richie Halloween costumes missing the point of the movie completely? Maybe.
