157: Nature vs Nurture

from The Reclamation Project

In today's episode, Julianne talks about her most recent trip home to New York, and her observations in her interactions with family and friends. As her own journey has involved diving into and healing a lot of childhood trauma and limiting beliefs/stories, she had a need to take space and process, and this trip home felt a lot different and she was able to show up with more space and compassion, and really observe and witness. Key topics: Honoring yourself by feeling & processing your own emotions & past. Outgrowing friendships/relationships Generational trauma/patterns in lineage (especially around food) Witnessing different ways parents support & respond (frustration/constriction vs love/compassion) How much is passed down generationally, and how much is the child nurtured into certain patterns? If you're being met with love and compassion, you may respond more that way and have those skills later in lifel; while fear, constriction, and aggression result in more of that. How our identities and stories/limiting beliefs get formed by what we hear as children. How often are we putting people in boxes based on our projections? "This last time when I went home, it was so beautiful to be in this place of groundedness, and to feel so clear in my emotions and in who I am and my responses and not be reactionary, and to also really observe everybody around me.
