Sommaren 1981 försvann trettonåriga Mary Louise Day från sitt hem i Seaside, Kalifornien. Hon var inte inskriven i skolan, ingen i området verkade riktigt känna till att hon bodde där, och när hon plötsligt försvann var det ingen som anmälde henne saknad. Familjen flyttade vidare, som om ingenting hade hänt. Och under många år var det ingen som frågade efter Mary. Men långt senare väcktes misstankar. Udda uttalanden, ett förhör som väckte oro och fynd i en trädgård där något eller någon kanske en gång varit begravd. Ingen kunde då ana att någon skulle dyka upp och vända upp och ned på allt. OBS!
