Gunkop. So anyway, I was in Vietnam just before Christmas. Did the rounds. The top middle and bottom, if you will, started at the top, went to the middle.
Went down to the bottom. Around the middle, you get to go to tunnels and all this. I don't know if it's a bit of a 1664 deal where they replicate it. It wasn't really the tunnels, but I've been in the tunnels and I think it was legitimately where.
Nice. Where the Vietnamese army kind of hit and fucked everyone up. Basically, it came near. Yeah.
So just a little excursion went out there, crawling through these tunnels, and then we just hit this one point. And there's a Gunk club mate, it's a shooting range. Nice. I got some stories about him in the bus, but I'll fuck it.
Basically, there's some annoying fucking the whole time that we're there. Take a picture, put his camera in front of your face, the record is fucking day. So I told him a couple of times. Legitmity told him.
I get to get your camera out of my face. Nice. If you can't see it from your eyes and your camera in front of your eyes, do not be ever leaning in front of me to film something. So I'm going to look for your camera.
Don't hinder my vision. It's going to be my camera in a minute. On the way back, he sat right next to me. Got his laptop out.
He was like fucking two three hour journey and started watching friends like when he's laptop right next to me, laughing out loud at all the jokes. We plugged in. That's the only one. It's like a comedy sketch mate.
Only comfy, common courtesy gave me. But he's like, nestling in. He's almost like he's my fucking boyfriend. Like, shoulder to shoulder with me.
He was laptop on his, and a Phoebe saying something. And he's laughing out loud on a mini bus when people are almost sleeping going back at the end of an excursion. He doesn't get fucked. So I told him at that point, I was like, you need to fuck off that way a little bit.
And he was on the aisle, right? Yeah. On this mini. So obviously it was just the aisle on one side of the van.
But he had that. And I was like, you see your legs? They can go there. They can go outside.
They can go into the aisle. That's why I buy an old seat on the plane. You get the more leg room mate. It's quite simple.
But he wanted to snuggle in with me, watching his friends. Yeah, he did. So yeah, tell him and just say, just pick a fucking leg up there mate. Please.
He did to be fair. And was this a Vietnam-er? No, I think he was, what the fuck was he from? He was either Indian or, no, I think he was Indian.
Yeah. And he was just too enthusiastic. Like he was just getting, like they even told him and one of the tunnels. Don't go down there.
You're not allowed to go down there. He just went, he jumped straight in it. Oh God. You're allowed to go into some of the tunnels and I can't get to a picture, you know, when you're hiding, hiding underneath the, it's almost like a manual cover that you kind of go in.
I didn't bother doing it mate. I didn't do it without a fucking book. You can take pictures of me. Like, and also they're quite small.
The, the, oh, so I just, I couldn't be asked with it. And I saw one Dutch old lady get dragged out of it because she couldn't even get out. So I was like, I don't need, I don't need that. I don't need that person to do that.
Yeah, I don't need to do that. So I just watched everyone else do it. But it was just being a toss of the whole day really. So, yeah.
So I kind of thought they, they had that sort of vibe going where they just had some speakers firing off some, some guns. And then we get to football and getting louder and yeah, they're like, well, yeah, so at this point now, you know, our, you know, our guys say you can shoot some guns. You can get a pistol, you can, you can have this gun or you can have any. They mentioned the AK-47.
I was like, well, I know that gun. You know, I've heard that's a, this, James Bond old nay will be coming nay gun. Exactly mate, exactly. And I, you haven't shot that gun have you?
No. I remember you saying that that's one of your, that's one of your guns right on the list that you want to shoot. Yeah, I, I've got like a version that's close to it. the real thing.
So I was almost like going, well, I can't say I've had this opportunity and then passed it by, you know. Of course. I've been trying to buy one off of them just for the rest of the trip. Yeah.
So yeah, so I thought, fuck it, I'll do it. So you could buy shit load that was, you know, like 60 quid, or you could buy like a maybe 20 or 12 or whatever. It was just two amounts basically. And I didn't want to be, it was only the size of the magazine or size of the packaging or something.
Yeah, yeah. So I just opted for the smaller one, which was just like a magazine, I think it was just like a magazine or something. So you can still do a rapid fire. Oh, yeah.
You're supposed to be able to rapid fire with it. I'll get to that. I'm just going down there. Well, before I went down, I got the the the the detective's on kind of waiting to pay money.
And I got to go, she goes, what are you doing? It's like, well, I'm fucking waiting to go down this. You did just go down there. I'm just standing like a lemon.
Like I've just paid you the money. Like to tell. But to know and tell you, yeah, go and walk down, you're allowed to go down walk where they're shooting. Yeah, you thought there would have been someone taking a ticket.
No, it's the old boy with the gun takes the ticket off of you. You know, it's it was pretty, yeah, pretty random anyway. Get down there, get set up and they've got some bottles and they've got some targets at the end. You get a little safety brief or no, there's no brief at all me.
You're just holding this gun. Go down there. Yeah, go down there and just like the gun is on a bracket or whatever. You know, you couldn't take the gun off the stuff.
I can spray people down. But anyway, so I'm at the gun start. I want to fucking just hammer some, you know, really fucking give it some. Yeah, my gun kept fucking jamming on me.
Every time I shot or I wanted to kind of like, I tried to like shoot on a bottle with your single kind of just shot. So I wanted to really aim obviously I missed the first one, mate. But then I was like, I mean, I'm in my position and obviously the site was just literally the iron site. So, you know, it's hard.
You know, I had an air rifle making down. I get some shit. Yep. But every time I'd shoot, the old boy would have to get in there and start fucking about with the gun.
So then I've lost my position again. So every single time I wanted to go. So it was a bit of a bastard. And then again, hold it down and jam and jam and jam.
So I'm kind of glad that I didn't buy the big one because I'd have been pissed off. I was just enjoying it. You know, it was cool. The power of the fucking thing, mate, the sound of it was, it was and the way it fucking pops out, you know, it's pretty cool.
But I didn't get the full experience that I wanted. Maybe they jam. They've got something in there where they wanted to jam. So people don't fucking spray them.
I don't really know. But I never got to be able to go and fucking argue it, which is a shame because I'd have liked to fucking spray some shit down. I'm trying to think how much it costs. I think it was like 60 quid for the bigger amount.
I'm just glad I didn't wear one. Yeah, that's probably the price of like a good couple hundred or more rounds. Probably bucks of an hour. It might have been that.
So I didn't have that. But it was still an awesome thing to hold. Oh, yeah. It just, it felt, you know, felt real.
It's probably, it's probably miles away from what you're shooting now. You know, the technology you're talking about, like it is not even the same. Some cat of a fish mate is just the fucking metal tube with some wood on it. Good smell mate.
We're getting loads of the fucking gunpowder. Yeah, the gunpowder, like the old boy was catching my catching the, yeah, everything the process was bringing out caught every single one of them. Yeah, he went worried. I'm sure his hands were made out of fucking.

Yeah, yeah. Nice. But it was, uh, no, celebrate with a Heineken mate, which I didn't expect you can have a beer afterwards in the, in these sort of settings. Nice.
And then so I had my beer and they were going back through the forest now to kind of go through, you know, more of the tunnels and shut that. And I'm there like as a typical fucking Brit or whatever. I'm just, you know, got my cat nestled with my chest and whatever, just walking through everyone's just, you know, just enjoying themselves. And that was me calling around with a beer.
We're exactly just getting on it mate. But it was, uh, that was the holiday. You know, you had to have a few beers. Enjoy yourself.
Before we kind of talk a little bit more, I'm sure you got some pressing questions about the Seiko. Oh yeah. But, um, I was offered, was offered some weed there as well. Oh, same place.
No, no, no, no, no. When I was in, um, I was now is before, so I would have been in Hanoi, which is at the top of the country. I was getting an overnight train down to Da Nang. So we're in a train weather.
So we're in a cafe near the train station, just kind of prepping ourselves. It's, you know, we're having a few beers and just, you know, just loosen up. And as you saw, I've always behind me just had this massive fucking clarinet, you know, just smoking out some fucking huge, like piping, huge. And, uh, like I looked over and they thought I was going to be, you know, like, Oh, don't smoke near me or whatever.

It didn't smell like a monkey. It didn't smell super kind of powerful, but you know, it's now, you know, it's, you know, it's probably, it's always different as well when it's somewhere else. So it's obviously got a little different smell. And the other boy handed like he offered it to me.
It's just on the table right next to us, like little capy, right, you know, tight handed over to me, but then smiled, right? That mean, his teeth were black as fuck. I was like, no, no, no, I've got a train journey mate. I got, I got, you know, I got to be, if it's another nice mouthpiece there, if it's people clean, I'd have probably had to go on it.

Might smell like we'd be. Then I'm on a train for 15 hours, you know, so I thought it probably was not to. But apparently it is illegal over there. But you see that pipe people out the front of establishments, hotels, bars, and they've all got this.
There must be a name for it. But it's like a fucking, yeah, like a cent of the clarinet was something more of a low bone, maybe. Is it more of a, probably like illegal, you know, I guess, even in like Spain, like it's illegal, but it's allowed, you know, so it might be kind of like as long as it's personal use of, you know, maybe it's illegal if you get caught, would be intent to distribute or something. Obviously you could walk down the street and have a split and no one's really going to give a fuck. Did you know you was going to be shooting when you went on this on this tour? I didn't even book it actually book anyway, so I didn't know anything about it. But it was just, I thought we're going into the tunnels and some of the tunnels are pretty fucking sketchy as well. Oh, yeah.
Like they're pretty like, I'm crazy. I'm done. Yeah, I'm just under six foot. Great in six foot.
And I didn't come up. You know, I mean, so you were a six foot free, you know, big motherfucker. I think you would struggle. You would really struggle because it wasn't, it wasn't nice for me.
I was like properly fucking hunched, like on my hands and knees were a bit because I otherwise you could be scraping your fucking back and everything. So that's what I thought we were going to do and just maybe have a little, they always do like the traditional meal with it as well. Yeah. But yeah, it was, it was pretty cool.
But apart from some of the people that we're going to share with, because some of them were just tools, you know, just just ignorant and selfish. Like everyone, you know, if I acted like that, I could act like you're going to act. No, I could do exactly what I want to do with everyone's day. But I'm kind of letting everyone else, everyone's got to enjoy this.
Yeah, I'm trying to have a good time. Yeah. But yeah, it was, yeah, so we just in a scursion that we thought we'd best do, you know, if you're there, you'd best go and see something, something like that. Just to really kind of just check it out.
I mean, it wasn't as like, we did go to the war museums and like in Ho Chi Minh, it's really kind of like the fucking the heavier side of it. And you know, like, I don't know if you've heard of Agent Orange, which is like a chemical. Yeah, it's like, go with yourself, people. We're not pretty bad stuff.
It's pretty bad stuff. And you know, fucking people over generations, you know, deformities for generations, generation to generate probably still happening now. So that gave you more history. This was a little bit of a rundown, but it was more like the novelty of going down to some tunnels, so the guns, which is a little cherry on top.

It's made with, I think it's a lot clay. So that's why that's how they could keep the structure of the tunnels. It's a bastard, the public dig, but it wouldn't it would never cave in on them. Yeah, Grace, but strong and they would kind of do sturdy tactics, but it's fucking war, right?
So yeah, spoken about it's for is there really any tactics? More really? Yeah, you're trying to win. So they were kind of put weird kind of traps within the crazy punchy pits and yeah, they showed us all then which are fucking crazy.
They even showed us this like these doors that had like a fucking swinging wedding that comes through it. If you kick the front of the top of the door, the fucking bottom of the door would come and get you. Yeah, you're spiking it. Yeah.
And when they when they dug the tunnels, they would they would dig a certain bit. So an American soldiers, someone of let's say just let's say 510 or whatever, or 59, they could get they could get in it to a certain point and then it gets smaller and smaller and smaller and then it gets a point where they wouldn't get a fit. But they can't turn around. Yeah.
That's too big. So at that point, then they just probably get what they do. Your vulnerable is fuck. You can't attack anyone that you get.

They did give me the rundown of how many people live down there, but you know, I was on the high-income I don't know exactly how many people have a time when you make it. But people like that for years. Oh, yeah. Even after the war, people were still staying in there.
If you ever go to Vietnam, which I'd recommend everyone to go to Vietnam because it's one of the cheapest, I think it might be the cheapest country in the world. It's beautiful, people are good. And it's got some interesting history as fucked up as it is, but maybe it's got some reflective shit in there as well. So just look at it and think, maybe don't be a cunt.

They're just a little selection. Maybe M16, whatever M would have been around then, I think, is what they'd have had there. And I think I'm sure they had a pistol as well. Sure they did.

Quickly, AK-Faxx, we had Soviet made, the AK-47 design work began in 1945. So they was out presented to the military for trial in 1947 or 1948. Wow. And then from then on, just continued.
There's obviously fucking shit loads of them. But yeah, Russia and China, that sort of area, big players, and everywhere in between. And Vietnam were, you know, in Guhuz, because obviously the communist ties is pretty much well split into, right? You know, communist, you stick together.
And if so, they were on that side, obviously they were getting their munitions from China and probably Russia as well. Oh yeah. Yeah. And a lot of Chinese and Russian guns are probably all mixed in with each other, really.
But the most common cartridge calibre size for the early sort of AK is 762x39, most common. Nice little chub, chubby bullet. It might have been a different colour case. Okay.
Yeah. Chinese corrosive ones. So of that sort of era, this is like probably 50s and 60s ammo. Yeah.
So that one looks like a bit of like a, almost like a rose connotated brass, yeah. So this is a copper shell. Right. Okay.

Yeah. It's, you know, look similar to that. It did look similar to that one's to issue. I'm sure it'd have been very similar size, but if you think my rifle is a 223, it's a lot skinnier.

I don't think they had a, this is a 762x54, so it's much, much bigger. I don't think, see the bottom kind of looks the same. You know what I mean? But I don't think it had that long, that long nose on it mate.

In Canada, mate, are AK-47s? I suppose they're not legal, right? Or are they? So in Canada, an AK-47 is a prohibited weapon.
So you can only get that if you have a prohibited license. Obviously, there are many variations of the AK. You can also get an AK in a 5x45x39. So the bullet is a bit skinnier than the one I showed you in these pictures.
So it would have been one of those calibers. Is that one of the right-hand side? Is that the longest, that's the longest of light? Is that the one you showed me?

Yeah, I think it probably was that. I just remember the bottom of it looking, looking like that size. I think everyone was too big. But when they're all, you can get those cases in like gray, black, brass, every colour difference makes the whole thing look completely different.
Same with the bullet tips as well. Yeah, it looked just like a classic, literally just brass. That's just what I look like. It didn't, there was, it's exactly what you'd imagine just a classic kind of bullet looks like really.
Yeah, that's cool. Yeah, typically in Canada, they're so, most AKs are generally pretty easily transferable into fully automatic, so things like that get banned a lot quicker. And scary guns, guns that look scary. Terrorists, AK-47s, Smiley and Pirates, AK-47s.
Why? Because they're old and mass produced to fuck. And they've just, obviously, you was having some trouble with yours there, but generally they normally run. It could have been dirty, maybe the magazine could have been a problem.
Sometimes a few of those things will make a difference if you know. It's surely quite a simple design, right? The grand team of guns. So you probably could, if it was your gun, if it was your gun, you probably could fuck about it.
Yeah, and it probably, you know, if I doubt they were randomly using different bullets, they probably just have like wooden box crates of the ammo. It's from the old war days. There's so much of it, even out here, the Chinese ammo and all that sort of thing is much cheaper because they're just so much of it. It's normally corrosive as well, so it can deteriorate for some of the newer age style cases.
But yeah, like those things, they run so much that they're going to give out a lot of gas after a while. They're going to build up like a carbon residue. Like, you know what I mean? You get that black smudge on your hand, but inside a gun that will clog up to like, clayy, like mushy gunk after a while.
And that's just going to slow things down, which obviously, that's a gas operated blowback. It's going to go back, but not necessarily spring powered back. It's going to go on the gases released from the bullet. But you know, if it's not clean, it's going to have, it's not going to run as smooth.
Things can get jammed a bit as well. If you fight five, six, seven days a week, if that's going, you know, it's quite a lot after a while, maybe it needs a clean, maybe the magazine had a bit of a problem with the spring or something, you know, things like that. Maybe it just needed a good old bit of lubrication, mate. Maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe it's something that's happened.
Maybe still cool, you know, even though it was a little bit annoying that I couldn't like really focus on fucking shoot the target, you know, because it was just like every single time, like we were talking about before, you know, you kind of, you know, you get your get your, yeah, get in your, uh, you target acquisition, mate. That's what it is. It was just a shame because everything else in Vietnam is so fucking cheap, right? Yep.
But there, it was like, you know, they got, they got your body by the bollocks because you're in a position where you can shoot it. Yep. Probably the only place in fucking Vietnam, you can shoot it. And there, it's like, if you want to shoot this, it's going to cost you this.
Really over here, you probably take it because you've been used to pain, you know, a quid-a-beer, you know, or one pound 32 for 20 camels, mate. Wow. So over here, that's 20 quid. Yep.

Uh, we had to start as each, main's each, and then we had some more beers that we, you know, after you tasted the flight because they were like, you know, 12 pints, you get like, you know, it might be, you know, it might be a free 30, might be a 200 meals or something. You know, you still get fucked up. But then we had a few beers after that.
I think that was 60 quid, right? And we were there for fucking hours. No, we had a good, we had a good set. I think we even got more food later.
I think we got more food later on. Yeah. We might have got like, you know, you can carry on drinking and then you can do something. Well, no, well, just, just another, like, you know, some chinkoos ons or, uh, some, I think it might be some fish, uh, goos on sort of deal.
It's also when eating something else, you know, you've eaten a bit more and it's a little bit later and it's like, and it got dark. So what we got there was like, nice, it was, it was getting dark into the evening. Just looking at someone else's plate. You know, I can handle a little bit, I can handle a little bit of that.
So you kind of, you ask the menu again, you start looking at that. So, but so what I'm saying is I spent, you know, we had a decent amount of food and this place is a plush place. Yeah. I mean, it was a clean, clean place, great service, like everyone's fucking immaculate.
Nice. Not a place you'd imagine to be like a craft beer place. It was quite, a weird buy that really, really cool buy. But yes, that was 60, we converted, that was a 60 quid, I think.
I'm sure it's not bad at 60 quid, just a bit. Easy. Yeah. That's the problem you get over there.

I don't know everything about it, but it's from experience in the place and kind of learning a little bit about it from some of the locals I spoke to, there is a, it's, there's a bit of yan-yo-ngone on there, mate.
