15th International Women of Courage Awards

As countries marked International Womens Day *yesterday, The US Department of state announced the winners for the 15th International Women of Courage Awards. The annual award honors women who have demonstrated exceptional courage, strength, and leadership in acting to improve the lives of others. Since its inception, the US Department of state has recognized more than 155 remarkable women from over 75 countries around the world with the IWOC award. Three of the winners this year are from Africa. Maximilienne Ngo Mbe from Cameroon is one them.She is said to have demonstrated extraordinary leadership, courage, and perseverance through adversity in promoting human rights in Cameroon and Central Africa.
