16 BROKEN

from Shakin' The Salt · host Dr. Debra Peppers

Dr. Peppers recently was invited to speak at a women’s conference on the topic of Gracefully Broken. Using several examples of people in she knows, including her own story, she also shared people in scripture who were “broken,” before they could find the real purpose and fulfillment of their lives. Dr. Peppers then called a young girl named Avery  from the audience to come to the front to help her with the analogy of a butterfly coming out of the cocoon. Having brought silky butterfly wings that can be worn, Dr. Peppers told how when she was little she was very overweight and called “Fatso” at school. Avery added that she also had people call her names or make fun of her in the past. The audience was asked how many of them had something similar in their past, and all hands went up! But those trials and struggles in our past are the very things that made us stronger, more resilient and more able to be used by God to help others!Support the showSupport our ministry by clicking "Support the show" above where you will be directed to our website.
