16. Kalee Murrin on Business Burnout, Client Boundaries, and How New Levels of Success Bring New Devils

from Get Messy with Maddie · host Maddie McGuire

Kalee Murrin (Entrepreneur), owns Sonder Social, a boutique marketing agency helping bold business owners with content creation, strategy, and consulting. Kalee and I were in a business group program a few years back and I’ve been a fan ever since. Getting let go from her corporate marketing job during Covid forced her to dive into starting her business much earlier than anticipated. She’s faced fast-paced growth, burnout, restructuring her biz, needing to establish iron-clad boundaries, and making sure she never feels like an “employee” to her clients. Oh and she’s about to move to Paris where she literally manifested her dream apartment… we definitely think working out of a cute Parisian corner cafe beats a cubicle any day. — How she went from thinking she was climbing the corporate ladder to becoming a CEO— Leaning into her client's strengths and emphasizing what feels good for them — Needing to establish that she’s a business owner rather than a “content creator” — Knowing it would be harder sitting in a cubicle the rest of her life vs. owning her business— How realigning with herself helped her realign her business and its direction — Social media is one component of many that a business owner needs to think about— She’s learned that done is better than perfect Resources Mentioned in the Episode Business Coach: Ashli Pollard of Team AP Consulting Mindset Coach: Amy McNabb of Actors Encouraged + Ambition EncouragedPodcast Production Company: Fast Forward ProductionsConnect with KaleeSonder Social WebsiteSonder Social IGKalee on ThreadsKalee’s BioKalee Murrin is the founder of Sonder Social, a boutique marketing agency whose passion is helping women entrepreneurs and women-led brands share their stories with the world.
