16: The Other Side

In this episode new contributor, Marie MacMillan, shares with us a conversation she had with a patient that came to the brink of death. In the beginning of the episode Marie shares with us her experience working in the CCU. She receives hand off of a patient that had a scheduled cardiac surgery. The patient goes into ventricular fibrillation just as the patient is passed onto her. The patient is defibrillated and survives. The patient has a tumultuous stay in the ICU during which she has multiple cardiac arrests. By some miracle, the patient survives her time in the ICU and is able to be downgraded to the medical wards. Marie goes to visit the patient who shares with her a story of meeting her deceased mother-in-law in the afterlife.
