That's a microphone. Without that, we're not in here. I was digging all the... Good morning, good afternoon.
Good evening. Listening to the AllTalk Car Podcast, hosted by Peter Rounders Co, hosting with me tonight is Mr. Hallelujah Mustuffa, but we've got two special guests in the back. We're using the Tesla against the studio and one of our biggest listeners.
Harry the Backseat. Harry the Backseat. Harry the Backseat. They've come along for a sort of live drive again.
We're just going to be doing about our own stuff. But the listeners' names are Jacob and Noah. Good day, guys. Hello.
Minions. Minions. I don't get too carried away, guys. So basically, that's a little soft spreece.
And they're just excited to come in and Tesla, so we're taking it for a few... They've been asking for ages. We're going to go and have to Peter's Tesla. And what?
The time is now. We're going to do a live drive. You guys can come along. Okay?
And we're going to ask them a couple of questions. Yep. Right? And then they're going to behave themselves while we do some other stuff.
So I'm going to take them somewhere special in a couple of moments. Yeah, we're going to go to where we charge the Tesla. They're all the surprises. They don't just say it already.
They did that. So basically, tonight's topic we're going to talk about, we'll get to the charging the Tesla and we'll listen to Jacob and Noah's bill a bit later on. But I thought, some is here. Some is coming.
Christmas lights are out. Christmas lights. Some are dressed like a little Santa Claus. So basically, a lot of hot cars.
Sunday morning's house, a lot of cars out on the street. So we thought, we'll just talk about... Tiss the season to burn rubber. And take your cars out.
Put them on battery tenders or replace flat batteries. They're out. So I was going to talk about, what do you need to prepare in order to take your car out either to the track or to a car's coffee or to even some of that. It's coming up in January.
So basically, what do you need to do? So, how many hours of the expert of cars is coffee? Cars and coffee is pretty easy to expect for the cars to clean. Clean.
Clean. Get up in the morning, jump in your car, warm it up. Make sure you get there by six days. Get there nice and early.
Get a good parking spot. Because by eight o'clock, you're about to go on. You don't want to be in the middle of nowhere where you have to sort of like, you know, you want to mingle around your car, you want to go for a walk. But get up, head out.
Make sure your car's nice and clean from the night before. And you have a great morning. Cars and coffee's a great, great get to meet some great people. Some of them are a theme based.
So you might have like a porch club. Yeah, you'll get the great people. The people got different cars and they're still part of a club. Yeah, they still come anyway.
Even if you may not have a porch, you can still. And so then those clubs also, they do, some of them, you can have a pretty close, quite neat community. And some of them just say there's all welcome when there's a donation at the door. And then you've got our friends like Chris from Street Muscle Cruises, who spends a lot of time putting on his cars and coffees every five to six weeks.
No, there's no donations, no, no, I think he doesn't really want to get into that sort of things. But he gives us raffles for the people that turn up for the members. A lot of people turn up, they're all behave themselves. Guys, if you got to go cars and coffee, they'll go dropping.
Don't be the Mustang driver. Don't be the Mustang driver. Don't be the Mustang driver. I'm going to post the video later because now there's hell-capped owners in the same thing.
Oh, it's hell-capped. No, it's hell-capped. No, what'd you say, Noah? Mustang's fine.
Oh, okay. There's the GMC. I agree. Well, they're stuck.
Okay. Enough. All right. So we know where that illusions is like.
Excuse me. So basically, yeah, it's, I mean, you're going to take a nice car. There might be a car to pay the doors. I don't know.
There's no, there's no, there's no, there's no, there's no, there's no microcar. No, no one is going to go. Ooh. Yeah.
I mean, everyone's car minded. I mean, if you're listening to this podcast, you're car minded. And people will sit there and talk about their cars with you. It's, you know, it's a good looking community.
You meet new people and especially if you're new in an area, if you're moving to the area, you go to Google or Facebook. There's a lot of Facebook pages where you can see where there's a. Some car clubs and cars and coffee are a lot of them are just open for the public. Yep.
But if you're, you know, you've got an interesting cars. It's, you know, you don't have something to take the cars and coffee, but head down, have all the grand, you might find something you want to buy. Cars are often for sale there, too. Some are made sure you have it for sale.
Sorry. Yep. I mean, you'll be the first places to find something special if you look at something in particular. But if you want to say, say it's cars and coffee, so a nice little rag, clean it.
Good attitude. Yeah, there's no need to go crazy. No other venues don't want you to go crazy because I tend to attract. just get told not to come back.
Yeah, you might come back and police would say that would just wreck a fair one. But what about down in the track? Like we did a bit of roll racing, so say you want to take your standard car out to the track. We've got a drag racing roll racing, a bit more prep involved, you know, depending on what event you're doing you may, you know, depends if you're, what kind of, if you've got a high horsepower car, you've got a Tesla, you can literally just make sure you've got a full charge, head out there.
Yes, very important. And just hit the throttle and just keep racing. Have some fun. Don't just say how fast your car goes.
Let's go. Is this screw to nearing? I mean, I know it is. Don't make sure that you've got the right helmet.
It's not too old. It hasn't expired the day. Frank standards. Now make sure you know your car's in safe road with your condition, your license, you know, just going for a driver.
So it's pretty straightforward to go out on a Wednesday night to see me drive away. Roll racing is a bit harder to get into at the moment because it's so popular. So you've got to book an event. You've got to buy your tickets for only one or two events before sometimes.
But that's good as well. You know, it's a rolling start. It's sort of like you're devolved from wanting to simulate drag racing on the straight. You know, drag racing on the straight.
You know, it's not like next year, like you're driving along. So it was roll racing. And I think it was designed more for the, for the blinds that car go drag racing. That's a, like when screwing in for the car, but we're talking about just standard cars.
Like, yeah, right. It's the car. There's lots of nothing in there that can move around. Like they check your boot.
Like, if you're junk in there, just take it out, you know. Clean your car out. You know, don't have any projectiles in the car. That's basically it.
If something goes wrong, the last thing you want to do is, you know, you had a bottle of coat in the back seat and something goes wrong and it goes flying forwards and it splits your head over. And apart from that, you would have been safe. There's most modern cars that go out there. They've got airbags and APS and all sorts of stuff.
So, uh, insurance. Now, a lot of these places, they're a lot of insurance companies do not insure you out of the tray. However, if there was certain, I remember with the M3, I had, uh, famous insurance, which they don't insure anymore. They basically had track that track.
You can have track that track. It's not cheap. I'm sure the excess is quick, pretty high. I never took it out.
But you can't, I'm not sure Shannon's does it. So, um, very cost prohibitive. And if you've got to be paying for that policy, your, uh, your ambition probably outweighs your ability. And you're looking for backup.
Yeah. So, so basically if you're going to take the car to track, you're pretty much on your own. If you want to go ahead and have some fun, don't drive a tent, don't even drive it. No, no, no, no, I'm not.
You're on a street tower with street tires. If you're going to do a track day, you're going to be lucky to get to eight tents without getting yourself in trouble. Because another thing as well, I'm going to be years ago when I had the golf that GDI had my vibe. Remember when, um, uh, Subaru, no, Subaru had a, uh, a track day.
And then I came along with the Volkswagen. It wasn't Subaru, but I was welcome. And secondly, um, you learn how to, we did skip out of that day. You learn car controlling.
You push your car to an extent where you've never done it before. You can't do it on the road either. So, yeah. Just going to the charger for the Tesla.
Thanks mate. So basically, um, yeah, it's, it's, you're having a track day or, or lessons. It's probably a good idea before you go out there and, and think you're, Peter Brock or, make example. Yeah, not a good example, mate.
So basically, um, that's, that's some of a few pointers if you're going to go, um, to a track day or, to a car's a coffee and places like that. Um, some of that's only for another day. I'm trying to get, um, the organizers, some of that's onto the, the program to talk a bit about it. So we've got some time before January, how you go about, um, basically, uh, sitting that car up and, and, and what's involved there.
So, you know, send us some questions if you're not sure and we're happy to answer them. Uh, to set it up. So now, now we're in. We're gonna charge the Tesla.
How exciting. So as a kid, you always wanted to help, help that little petrol in the car. Yep. So now we're gonna charge Uncle Pete's car.
So we're gonna take the mic outside and boys take your seat belts off and someone's gonna have a go at pushing buttons and someone else's gonna have a go.
