160: Let the Trauma Begin

from Movie Meltdown

Movie Meltdown - Episode 160 This week we fling open the doors to the coffee shop and expand the cast to a bigger and better level! And what better way to welcome the new members to the show, then to immerse them into trauma. That’s right, this week we kick off another session of The Grind where we discuss “Traumatic Movies“… or movies that scarred me for life. What results is more traumatic talk then one show can contain!  And along the way, we also bring up… Man on a Ledge, making kids watch a Bergman film, Michael Fassbender, Haywire, Snake Eyes, Super, Channing Tatum, the dog with the human head, turn up the smoky, when your friends won’t shut up during the movie, that face women do that says… do me, intentionally schlocky, Candy-Colored Clown, scanning TV Guide for the horror movies, Charlotte’s Web, offending Nazis, Steven Soderbergh, The Vow, I just watched Krull 25 times in a row, it was the first time it occurred to me that so many naked women could be so boring, Iago, G.I. Joe 2, the movie you hate… that everyone else loves, I think that movie is going to responsible for so many break-ups, Lassie kills a guy, you know, there are lots of different kinds of trauma, Fran Drescher, it’s like Dwight Schrute in Taxi Driver, 1001 Amish Insults, Gina Carano, The Naked City, Dennis Hopper, the AFI lists and the trauma of Little Man. “It was like, FINALLY - I thought I’d got my kids to the level of trauma I’ve been looking for…”

Explicit The Midnight Cinema Screening Unkn  Welcome to The Midnight Cinema Screening. This is basically the place where we hang out after midnight and talk about movies and TV shows that stuck with us… the good, the bad, the weird, and the ones that probably shouldn’t exist but somehow do. I also talk about true crime. If you love horror, cult classics, creepy shows, and the occasional random deep dive into something strange, you’re in the right place. Nothing here is super scripted or overly serious. It’s more like sitting around with friends after a late-night movie, breaking down what worked, what didn’t, and the moments that made you pause the screen and go, “Wait… what just happened?”Some episodes we’ll be reviewing movies. Some we’ll be talking about TV episodes. And sometimes we’ll just go down a rabbit hole about the weird history behind something we watched. So if you like late-night movie talk, dark stories, and conversations that feel a little unfiltered Explicit
