160 - The 5th Wave (2016)

"How do you rid the world of humans? First, you rid the humans of their humanity…” Did you know there’s a new prequel to The Hunger Games dropping this weekend? Neither did we! Even so, we’re covering another YA adaptation with a female protagonist obsessed with protecting her younger sibling while finding herself in a love triangle that will likely be further fleshed out in future sequels! Along the way, the boys stop to digress about YA film adaptations from 2001 onward, consistently-released long-running franchises vs. franchises with long-delayed follow-ups, and the difference between ‘Michael Mann-editing’ and ‘Michael Bay-editing.’ Give us a wave (or five) by following us on the following platforms: @Disenfranchpod on Bluesky, Facebook, Instagram, Letterboxd, and YouTube Email us your thoughts or requests to [email protected] Rate and review us on Apple Podcasts and Spotify!
