#161. Cherry blossom season in Japan 桜　さくら

Hello. Welcome to Jenni's Pika Pika Japanese. The weather in Japan is gradually getting warmer and warmer. As the weather gets warmer, we feel that spring is approaching, and the image of cherry blossoms is widely spread in Japan. There are many types of cherry trees, and each type blooms at a different time, so the cherry blossom season in Japan as a whole lasts four to five months. Among these many types of cherry trees, the central type of cherry tree in Japan is the Someiyoshino. Although someiyoshino bloom for only a few days before falling, the cherry blossom season is long throughout the Japanese archipelago: February in Okinawa, mid-March in Kumamoto, late March in Kansai and Tokyo, April in the Tohoku region further north, and later in Hokkaido. 桜　さくら Cherry blossom 花見 はなみ Flower viewing こんにちは。 ジェニのピカピカ日本語へようこそ。 日本の気候もだんだん暖かい日が増えてきました。 暖かくなってくると、春が近づいているのを感じますが、日本の春といえばさくらというイメージが広く行き渡っています。 桜の種類はたくさんあり、その種類によって咲く時期が違うので日本全体では桜のシーズンが4～５ヶ月続きます。 その多くの桜の中で日本の中心的な桜はソメイヨシノという種類です。 ソメイヨシノは開花してから散るまでに数日しか咲いていませんが、沖縄では2月、熊本では3月なかば、関西から東京では3月下旬、そしてさらに北の東北では、4月、北海道ではその後というように日本列島全体では、長く桜のシーズンが続くのです。
