While his friends were out playing sports and in school, Nick was preparing for fatherhood via having to work multiple jobs to support his son. Nick also touches upon his stint at an in-patient facility to defeat a bout with depression at the age of 20. Considering the circumstances, Nick never threw in the white flag, rather he rose up to the occasion and became stronger and more powerful.
