Most of us don't think about our marriage as an activity. We don't put it on the infamous "To-Do" list. It's not even on the calendar. We get up, take care of business, get the kids out the door, and we're off doing whatever is scheduled for the day. Then we come home with evening activities still left. The day is not done. After dinner, all you want to do is veg out. You want the kiddos to go to bed so you can finally have peace, that down time you so deserve. Yet where did your marriage fall in your day? Probably not anywhere. We're lucky to get a kiss in the morning and an 'I love you, good night'! There might be a little hope for the weekend, but you know all too well that baseball and softball have you running. If you spent as much time on your marriage as we do on your children's activities, do you think your marriage would be different than what it is today? Of course! Marriage has to move beyond convenience. It must become a priority. Because I'm here to remind you, that if you want to celebrate 25 and 50 years of marriage, it's not gonna happen if you have a "convenient store" marriage. Give your time and spare the energy! Don't let the "Ex's" (exhaustion and excuses) ruin your marriage. Make time for each other especially when you're tired and times are rough 'n tough. Enjoy a date night. Escape the distractions. Focus on your spouse. Yes, your children need you, AND your spouse needs you! So show up for your spouse. Get physical in the nooks and crannies of your day.  Hold hands. Send a mid-day text. Write a note. Let your eyes connect. A gentle brush of your hand on his back. A quick kiss on the cheek. Falling in love all over again is beautiful. So awaken the heart and synergize your love. "Make today count!
