#162 Eamon Devlin // The science of halftime in sport

from The Sideline Live Podcast · host The Sideline Live

On episode 162 I am delighted to be joined by Eamon Devlin of Minute 9. Eamon is a lawyer by trade however left his role and pursued research on halftimes in sport. He suddenly realised there was very little research in on halftimes and set up his business Minute 9 (hear the reason for the name in the podcast!) to help coaches and teams manage their halftimes. That business has grown to 8 staff members and work with some of the biggest sports teams and clubs in the world. Eamon shares his story from starting out, to ideas and concepts for halftimes, learning from Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid and so much more. From what not to do, to ideas on how to manage your team talk, to insights from top teams and coaches this is a great listen for any coaches and those part of a backroom team. I reached out to Eamon 12 months ago after researching the topic and came across his work with minute 9. Since connecting on LinkedIn I've been fortunate to pick his brain about halftimes, protocols and more. It's been great to see the growth of his business and look forward to watching it prosper for years to come! Eamon thanks for your time, looking forward to part 2 where we will discuss examples from you the listener, (yes you!) on your experiences at halftime and scenarios for coaches.
