from Wheel Talk · host Ryan Durbin & Becca Otis
Ryan and Becca get into what would be involved in having someone work for you in exchange for access to your personal studio. Some may consider this as a good alternative to paying someone directly for their services or they have ample space to share so we get into the weeds here. We hope you enjoy today's chat. ResourcesEpisode 311 of The Maker's PlaybookListener QuestionsOn this episode:- You have mentioned not making certain items because you just do not like making them. I get that, I don't make handwarming mugs either for the exact reason. But are there pieces that you refuse to make because of liability reasons? Example: oven safe pieces like baking dishes/pie plates. This seems to be a controversial topic on Facebook groups. So do you make and sell oven safe pieces? What clays do you use? Or what are your opinions? @clayhavenstudio- Do you have any tips on throwing tall, narrow forms? A local distillery is interested in me making some bottles for them but they have to fit in their current packaging. This means they have to be narrower than my hands and about 12 inches tall. Do you have any tips for throwing pieces when your hand can’t fit inside?
