#164 Confessions of a Supplement Addict

from The Yoga Heart Mind Podcast

At one point, my kitchen bench looked more like a pharmacy than a place to prepare food.Bottles lined up like soldiers—capsules for energy, powders for gut health, tinctures for sleep, sprays for focus. You name it, I probably had it.Most of it was practitioner-prescribed.Well-researched. Well-intentioned.I wasn’t just guessing—I was responding to real challenges.Years of chronic fatigue. Adrenal burnout. An ongoing eye condition that no one seemed able to fully crack.I worked with skilled naturopaths, medical doctor’s, ran tests, followed protocols. And I truly believed each new supplement might be the missing piece. But somewhere in the process, something else got lost: intuitive alignment with nature. The more I added, the more inflamed and foggy I felt.My nervous system buzzed beneath the surface, even on the “calming” herbs. The list of inputs got longer, but the feeling of wellness never quite arrived.I wasn’t sick—but I wasn’t well either. Not effortlessly well. Not flowing. Not thriving.⸻So I’ve Been SimplifyingNot out of defeat—but out of curiosity. What would happen if I stopped trying so hard? What if, instead of treating my body like a complex equation to solve……I just lived in it?Listened to it?These days, my “protocol” is very simple compared to what it used to be.Sometimes, less is more. I feel myself going deeper into the Yoga.⸻The Mitochondria WhisperI’ve been exploring the work of people like Dr. Jack Kruze and Justine Stenger—voices who speak about mitochondrial health, circadian biology, and cellular coherence not just in biochemical terms, but in rhythmic, living, cosmic ones. They point to something so profoundly simple, it’s almost easy to miss:• Your cells speak in light.• Your mitochondria thrive on rhythm and simplicity.• Your body heals not just through what you ingest, but through how you live. And when that rhythm is constantly interrupted—by artificial light, by stress, by synthetic supplements flown in from around the world, by mismatched inputs—your body can’t keep up.It gets confused.Health isn’t a matter of stacking more on.It’s about clearing the interference and aligning with the light.⸻Less Biohacking. More Bioharmony.I used to track everything. Now I trust more.Read the rest of this write up at Substack. So much gratitude to the sponsors of this show:https://www.solemechanics.com.au?sca_ref=2745696.Gb110u1TEiYour discount code is: WATKINS6162 for 15% offTo get the best mala beads out there visit:https://www.aumrudraksha.com/ & enter promo code WATKINS10 for 10% off.For the best organic underwear I’ve found:https://stonekin.co/stuartwatkinsPlease use the following link to get the best red light technology available:https://infraredi.com.au?sca_ref=7963432.mB3nkmhNaH Use promo code STUARTWATKINS for a nice discount.https://onegoldenthread.com/Promo code STUART181 for 18% off.https://www.onegoldenthread.com/STUART18With love,Stu and JoSupport the show
