164. The Huntsman Homestead

There are many ways to define homesteading, whether off-grid or not, it's a growing lifestyle choice across the country. I was surprised at the amount of questions I've received around my family's choice to live this kind of life, so I figured it was time to do an episode about it.  In this episode, I discuss our recent move from our old homestead to our new one. I talk about why we moved, where we moved, and whether or not it's permanent. Then, I take on some of the more popular questions around living a more self-reliant life; how to choose the right property to homestead, raising chickens and other livestock, protecting your homestead, gardening, timber considerations, off-grid versus utility power, typical predators and how to keep them away, and much more. Honestly, it was a lot of fun to shift gears and talk about this topic, it's something I'm passionate about.
