166: The Jiu Jitsu Coach - Student Relationship: What Does Your Coach Owe You as the Student?

What does a Jiu Jitsu coach owe their student? Rolls? Coaching at tournaments? Promotions? Unlimited Access? What is the obligation and where does it end? We are navigating the intricacies of what coaches owe their students in the world of Jiu Jitsu, or at least sharing our thoughts. You will get the student and the coach perspective during this episode. How does a coach balance being present for their own personal commitments and competitions, while also wanting to coach and support their students?  Do coaches owe their students coaching for every tournament? We touch on the fear of missing out (FOMO) that coaches may experience and the desire to be there for their students in their competitions.  AJ shares a recent example of having to choose between coaching at multiple tournaments in the month of June and how she prioritized where she would be coaching.  And then she had a surprise surgery thrown into her schedule.
