Check once, whatever you fuck a roadie's there, are we? Seriously. No, no, we'll record it. And then I'll hit it.

Yeah, to make Tom's jungle. No, you can't, we can't kind of pace it. What were you rehearsing, Rick? Good morning, good afternoon, and good evening.

Oh, God, I've got to lose my job. He's Rick, Rick, sure. I went out, I went out, and he was just recording. Is that what?

Is that what you're saying? No, no, no, I thought on there, he'll just talk to somebody. Ah, so I went out, and we had dinner, and we went back to the hotel. Yeah.

And I thought, wait, we're in Bathys, we're away. You're going to get out, right? We're driving back, it's like, fucking nine o'clock at night. I said, what are we doing now?

We go back, go to bed, go to bed. I'm thinking fuck, somebody nine o'clock. I said, just Tom pull over for a sec, I need to pull over. Pull over, I said, I'm going to go.

So I went to the pub. Right, so I went to the pub. I mean, the pub, about one o'clock in the morning, I met these three girls. So I'm dancing with them and carrying on.

I have a great time. One of them looks down, I've got a wristband. She goes, even the racer, I said, yeah. She goes here, drive on, I said, yeah.

She goes, what's your name? I said, Rick Shaw. So you're partying before the race a bit. I'm actually going, I'm like, you guys, it's two o'clock, shouldn't you be in bed?

I said, no, I said, it's a long race. I'll drive the car on the last drive, I'm just there to bring it home. And I believed it. Good, what do you gonna have to do?

Go live your history to the old talk, car podcast. We're in Tom, the Raving Reporter's workshop. We've got security here. We've got the fly-by-gate behind us.

Try to take my job and introduction. We've got, yes, we've got Zach on, who's going to be racing in Bathurst and upcoming, is it the six hours? Yeah, six hours. Yeah, I actually don't think I'll be racing this year, or I'll be racing hopefully next year.

I'd like to start, what car is it? BMW 1M. So you've got a 1M? A 1M, yeah.

I think it's going to be ready. Oh, look, I think it'll be ready. The car actually finished eight last year, so it's done in six hours previously. I think the car will be ready.

I don't know if we'll have enough test time though. Okay. When I say ready. You don't want to have the green ball.

You don't get to finish the race. The only thing that we're just refreshing it from last year is the fact that we've got to be able to go on. So we've had the turbos rebuilt, include the brake cooling and some of the bits and pieces. But yeah, I think it'll get there and I think it'll finish.

Well, let's go back to basics. So you're in charge of the race team. Yeah. Tom's going to be the fuel man.

The child's going to be the fuel man. I like to drink a lot. It's going to be the bottom end. Because you've got all the answers from Carl's.

No. Because last week was the last week that we got the prick set to me. He said because I've got the extra weight, I can push the thing over. The nozzle is in the back.

Yeah. Yeah. You know. You can't hang on.

It's coming in the middle between all this crowd. Last time we were in Bathurst, you and I looked at with our ricksaws, we saw the RXite there. And we wanted to go for a lap or get in or look at the seat. I'm not getting in because if I read that steering, well, we're fucked.

I can't erase that. Is the one end design for people like Tom and I to get in? The one end design? The one end design?

The one end design? Is it small car? I don't just look up at the seat. Is it like fucking?

Is it for jockeys? It was a bit changed. Yeah. The previous end was big, not quite as big as you guys.

But he was big, he was big. He was just a big solid man. He was normal. He was normal.

But obviously I couldn't get myself comfortable in the seat and I couldn't get the seat in the right position. He had such a wide seat. He had a seat that used to, it was wedged between the roll cage and the tunnel. And then I couldn't move it.

It was a bit of a six hour. You guys have drive yourself a six hour. No, there's usually two drivers. Two drivers, the real competitive teams have got two drivers.

The guys that have a bit of fun, they're left three drivers. They're the ones that have paid for it. Generally the driver contributes. So I mean, is the center justable?

So you come in a bit like Tom's there with the right fuel. The way it was set up before, they were quite clever the way they did it. They basically had the seat on a run on a traditional run. And they had a stopper at the front and the stopper at the back.

It was two brothers. It was just with Mark and Michael Kane. So when Mark was the shorter one, he'd get in, push it all the way forward to it. Stop up.

The other brother could push the lever and they just... There's no height adjustment. No, no, no. Kind of funny.

The little things make things easier. So that way they didn't have to second guess. Yeah. These are the little things.

That's why we got these professionals. Exactly. Don't explain that. I mean, you're only going to tell me which house you're going to hold to put in the petrol tank.

No, no. Apparently one that's very springy and springs your back. You're going to put these on the petrol car. You're going to meet and then half of our bathors.

If you want to talk about that drive race, you can't. where you see them refueling the car. You can't push it in. It's a two-hand thing.

If you remove that and try to push that refueling nozzle with your hand, you can't push it in. It's very, very hard. Because you've got to put in the fuel pretty quick. Because you've got to get back out of the track.

Is it designed for the oxygen that's coming up? So when you actually have two houses, one is dumping of fuel in and one is ready. It's gravity fed. So to speed it up, they've got rules flying up.

The hose has got to be a certain diameter and all that. If you want to get the fuel quick, you've got massive hose and it's just guzzling. And it's got to be a little guzzling. But it was a guy in the 60s that had one of those American cars and he had an extra 20 litres of fuel mined.

So the car that couldn't believe how he was getting such good economy. The tank was the car was that? Well, the tank you can't see? I wasn't a Ford guy.

I was in the 60s. It was in the Surrey cars. The tank was a standard size. And then you've got 20 litres worth of fuel and a few of the lines.

He used to top up extra and he used to go out longer. And it was sort of been not fitting the rules. And that's what I said, so you're prepping the car. Do you look at the rule for 30s?

And then bring the car or you've got the car. The car is there. The car was screwed previously. So we know that it passed.

There was some issues around brake ducts and whatnot last year that it was a cleanest line that sort of repaired on the track. So we're improving that this year. But yeah, well, give it everything. With production car racing is set by the ruling body.

You can't go outside of what they say. So the size of the car and the engine that's in the car actually governs how many litres of fuel you can have in the car. Now whilst they're generally not going to go and pull you over and say empty the tanks. But if you go out there, they're not stupid people.

They know roughly what you're going to do and how much fuel you're going to use. And if they find what you said, you've got an exit. Because whatever they will actually make you don't know. They'll make you empty the tanks or fuel the tanks in a measure.

They look at there's a boost monitor on the car. So they know what boost you're running at any point in time because you can't run anything past factory boost. So you can't wind the turbos up and increase boost or anything like that. You're going to the factory boost.

Now you can bring the boost in any time, any time you want to log the truck. But you can't go past the factory boost. You can't pull, you can't straight, you can't modify heads, you can't do any of that. So it's pretty much production.

It's pretty much production. You're free to do anything you want to the brakes. You're free to change intercooler pipes. You can't touch your aerodynamics.

You can do anything you want to suspension and brakes. But you can't change pick up points. You can change intercooler pipes, but you can't change the air box. It's not an air box that has to stay.

You can change the air filter element. But can you like machine this kind of stuff or? No, you can't machine anything. You can't modify the air box, put a cold air intake on it.

None of that. It is. And so you said about the tires and suspension. I mean, you're punching this car, you're redlining it.

I think it's probably designed for it to be safe and last the distance. Like you can't race on road tires, street tires. You need the racing tires. The suspension's going to be set up for you there.

The suspension, yeah. So you can't strengthen the suspension, pick up points, or anything like that. You can't modify them, but this particular car's got, you know, the suspension is probably $16, $17,000. So it's got some very, very high end springs and shocks and dampers.

And they modify the body at all? Like, not modified, but like steamwell. No, it's caged. And it's a certified cage.

And that is, yeah. And the cage gives it unbelievable rigidity. So they don't seem well enough? No, no.

You can buy the back seat. Can you take them out? The back seat is taken out. Yes.

The roll cage goes. The other thing also is that you can't lighten the car like you think you can lighten it. The cage sort of. Well, whatever you take out the car, the cage puts back in.

But regardless, there is a weight limit for that car. And that weight limit is with the, including the driver. So if I set the weight limit, say with, oh, so you're going to be really cautious. If I set the weight limit with the heavier driver, I go out there and drive it.

And they say, right, yeah, we need to weigh you. So we need to set everything up in that car with a full tank of fuel, the heavier driver. So the other side of a driver, you know, I'm not. Yes.

And if we're the car. Because I turn up with the medium barter and you're like, it's got to find a drive. Yeah. Right.

And it's your car. I would drive. How are they going to, what's the parity there? Like, there is a parity.

The car has a minimum weight. And they can measure that car with any driver. So we're penalised because of the quality. Yes.

Which minimum. So, you know, you're going to be too heavy or you're always up in the car with a formula. No one's a good turning. Like, I want your details.

Yeah. And now, now, why they're not getting back. It's going to do with the billy. I'm just too big.

Yeah. That was it all the time. Yeah. Well, you got to miss those catered lunches.

What the track. Because I was told too, and it's true. We're talking about food now. Right.

When we go to the Baffes, he's got his garage for the car and all that. We're not like, someone said, I'm just cooked there. You can't cook. You have to buy the food from them.

You have to buy the food from them. You have to buy the food from them. You've got to buy the food from them. You've got to buy the fuel from them.

And you've got to buy the tires from them. And they're like the worst tires you can ever imagine in the world. Well, they have to get rid of something else. They're not even right.

The tires are like a sponsor to the race. Yes. Yeah. That's it.

They're not a particularly good tire, and they are outrageously expensive. But is that for parody? It's for sponsorship. It's for sponsorship.

Yeah. Yeah. So, so, so, M.R.F. sponsored the event, and you must use the tire.

Yeah. And they changed the car. It's like 500 bucks a tire. And $4 a year.

You can buy that. Yeah. Yeah. It's a $4.5 a year.

Yeah. $4.5 a year. Yeah. $4.5 a year.

Yeah. $4.5 a year. Yeah. $4.5 a year.

And you're buying the fuel jig and they're coming for the day. So, they come and fuel that up. No, you're wearing a jig. No, no, no, no, you're hiring a tank, that's there.

No, they were carrying a fuel jig, a Tesla. The big thing where it goes. No, they're coming in at it too. Oh, is that right?

Yeah. It's the big thing that's there. No, it's all right. Let's find the fuel jig, yeah.

That's what we're going to get. That's what we're trying to organise the fuel jig. So go ahead. That's my wheeling down there.

Yeah. The fuel. Yeah. But then they charge it into the fuel.

That's a fuel rig to fill it up. So the fuel rig is what you've got to hire us. No, you've got to have it. That's where people share the garage.

We'll have it. Okay, all right. Okay, we've never done it before. Okay, we've never done it.

So we're trying to share it between rig shores helping a lot. Another BMW one I can't remember who it was. You know what I mean? It's going to help to get this out of the line to race.

These are the behind the scenes that you need to walk in on. So we're talking about the cars. They're being on the earth. It's unbelievably different to a regular production car weekend event.

And they have those events throughout the year. So they have a NSW Queensland Championship and so on. So you drive for probably an hour and a half a total driving over the weekend. I made it maybe two hours.

I was like, what about that? Yeah, but this is like six hours. But you've also got practice right at practice set there. So the equipment you need, the people to be there.

So let's go through the basics. So I've got another BMW one here, but I want to come down here. So I've read the rules, the cars ready. I'm a canis there.

It was happy. How many people do you need to help you? Tenish. Tenish, yeah.

You've got to fuel for the fuel. So you've got to go fuel in. You've got to go to the firing at the firing extinguisher. And the guy that can switch the fuel off.

It's three people in the line. Or for safety. So you've got one guy out of switch off. One guy sort of.

And you've got to get to that. Because we had experienced last year. So we've got three people. Then the car comes in.

If you need to do a type, you need to do a type change. The other thing about the bath is six hour. And actually I was watching the 12 hour last week. And I think that's the same as well.

Unlike V8 Supercars that you watch and the cars go in and they're fueled up there back out in ten seconds. They have a window where you've got to sit in there. So you've actually got plenty of time. You've got five minutes.

So when you come in, the time starts, you've got five minutes and you can't go out in less than five minutes. So it's not formula last style. No, no, no, no. So you've got plenty of time for the fuel to go in.

The tyre change of the car. Because there's no ejection of that bullshit. You've got to jack up. You can only have so many people over the line.

Yeah. So, you know that last year, one guy would walk out there and put a timber under the wheel for rope. And one guy says there's only four people in there. One time I can't remember how many people.

He's holding the rope. He's not counting. Even though he's pulling the rope. He just pulls the rope.

Is the guy standing in front of the case. That's the car. But you've got five minutes and you can't finish it. Listen five minutes and screw it out.

And that's it. No, that's all. What did that take? No, that's it.

So that's at any time. So you need to pit. So you need to pit at any time. You can't find it.

You can't find it. You can pit at any time. But there's a minimum amount of pit stops that you've got to do as well. That's why everybody doesn't.

So that way doesn't matter. Yeah, now that makes sense to me. Because I was watching other people who are in a different class at that race last year. But does that stop?

Man, you're either taking their time. But they're taking their time to lose the money. So ideally they're trying to keep the amateurs in this event. And they're also trying to keep an array of cars in the event as well.

The most competitive cars out there are always the M3s and M2s. They just seem to have the horsepower. The A45s, they go quite well out there. And the Lancer Evo's, particularly if it gets wet, you know, those things shine.

But they're trying to keep an array of cars in there. And they're also trying to keep everyone scattered around the track. Oh, undoubtedly. Because you've got to find me a window and I'm going nice and tired of you.

My name. If you pit it like earlier than me, I'll probably die a lap in a half. And then it's a massive speed differential between the cars and between the drivers. It's a lot of spreader than a rather heavy-romp bunch together.

So you've got hackers like me. And then you've got guys like Cameron Hill that's an absolute machine. And from the last year, we finished first. Yeah.

Entirely different levels of expertise and experience. Last year, there was three of the same car. Like, would I feed them? No, there's a zucy-swip.

It's a zucy-swip. And I swear on it, it looked like they were having the time of their time. Yeah, yeah. Yeah.

Yeah. I would have done three of them. And when they all get close together, they say, you know, give me the fingerprint window. It just looked like, so slow.

Yeah. Well, that's the idea behind it. So I'm going to know, sort of illusions or delusions and maybe go out there and win. I'd like to get on the podium.

I mean, we'll give it a bit. It's just a thing on. It's a bucket list thing that I really want to do. I'm not going to do something that's competitive anyway.

I want to compete. So you've raised the bafers before? No. Oh, it's for a solid.

He's not racing this year. I've been around. I've got a 1969 GT Falcon. I've been around a day.

Okay. But yeah, I know it's very different. Does that break something? No, it's great.

So I've got to get my license in front of me because the thing about the 6-hour as well is races are bafers to consider international events. They're not local events. You've got to have your hands license. You've got to get international recognition.

So the drivers have a lot of money. Are they going to be the ones? Oh, yeah. Yes.

What's your name? Coxy. You're coming. Rick Shaw has given us a Coxy.

He's coming to Tom's door. Tom's racing the one here. Nice. So it's two cackled drivers.

The cars fast. The one who's out. The one who's out. The one who's out.

The one who's out. Because they do the one who's out. No, no, the German one. They're actually a very collectible model too.

Because it's only a two-year rung where they made 4,000 feet. Oh, yeah. The one who's out. That's one of my favorite cars.

And I haven't had a chance to get anyone. They were 80,000 around you. They're still 80,000 going down. Not the best car.

How many? 40,000 glauge we were made. No, no, no, no. How many being done to race?

Oh, no, no. Well, there was no, as far as I know, there was no factory. One in the race. This is being a W factory, right?

Yeah. I could have a Porsche for my racing cars. Not G.A. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

They went quite well last year in the 12 year. They had the M4 GT4E. They saw the hill. They saw the big one.

What was the beam on next to Rick Shaw's garage? What was the next door? Yeah. That was up there.

What car was he's one. Was that the one? Yeah. That's right.

Now the guys were checking the fuel. What was the last one? That was the MP? That was the PS3.

That was the PS3. The way you did the petrol. Four hours. Mate, they were dressed up in the full fire retardant.

What did you do? I'm there with my camera. I'm looking at, and then I'm like guys. You're gonna do it?

Yeah. The measuring for the hoses and the hoses and the hoses. They're measuring everything. And I'm trying to work out how much fuel they were using to get the astrology.

Oh, so they're trying to get it. Wait. Yeah. It was a team from Queensland, a dealership team.

But they were pretty good. Yeah, they look scary, they're suits. The Mysi-O-Mecel stocks and powders cast, they do like stocking stocks and all that sort of stuff. No disrespect to Rich Alston, I'm not saying we were a rabbit.

I'm pretty organized too. But if they had sandwiches, did they bring the... No, you cheated. He brought them in, either way.

You won't get them yet. We'll just keep walking back to the hotel and eat. I'm looking forward to it. We're going down this year.

Yes. I'm sleeping over the morning. I don't know where you're sleeping. Apparently I had to keep my snoring down.

He sits in the chair like this. No, the cars were solid. That was it. No, it takes one second.

One second. When we flew to go to other, the planes were going to pick up my car. He just sat in the seat. After two minutes he was...

If I get on a plane, I'll get my car. Oh, because we had the beat long drive, made security. But I had the happy passenger. Yes.

He wanted to slip. Where's the shit in? Oh, the happy passenger. Good luck to her.

That'll be the last time we did that drive. Was there a wick like the security wanted to do the drive back? I'm going to leave the keys. Let me go back again.

It felt like we were sitting on a park bench. It's got those racing seats. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I didn't argue with the driver's seat and it felt tight in these things.

They were driving the first seat for a couple hours. Then we swapped. I got the passenger seat and all of a sudden I could fit. Security tells me afterwards, well, there's a button to make your vehicle line up.

That's it. Not much. Just a back of it. My hips were choking in there.

And then the bass was not sitting on a bench. Yeah, my little bit. In my car, it's got auto lumbar. He's got the back of it.

He's got the back of it. He's got the back of it. Yeah, company's archers. suppressing it, but he's got the bottom and arm is out when you turn.

H S I O E S M S A Y Auto lulus. Portions. Yeah, man. There'sCention.

H S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S Complete. M S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S Smoke and any time developer who got in trouble by the police for that side exhaust and he was signing the law saying that's how that car comes from every day and they've done for that every other one is the same they're all same or you know what you talk to Ken who knows the rule backwards because he believes that he knows it backwards and he said if you front it up with that car he goes I just do not see how I can register now I forget the noise the pipes he goes I if you would front up with like a Land Cruise and you've done that so what he goes I'd fail it there's nowhere in the book that sees the little live drawn to G63 yeah it's loud it's taken out for a live run we'll talk to that but no no there are that's a monster truck car yeah all right so that's right yeah I forget all that crap it's a lot driving that we've got the three people for the show yeah so it's where we're going still we're going to go again the car should be back the car's been the car was built I'll give you a bit of history on the car as well so the car was built by peak performance by Nick Peake for his nephew his nephew son was Elias and the car was being built for his nephew to drive and race he's some he's nephew was quite keen and unfortunately before he got to drive the car Elias died of brain cancer so they got the car got parked up in the corner of the workshop for quite some time for many years and it just set there and then last year not long not long before the six hour started the the cane brothers from from the cell they wanted to drive they knew Nick they rang him up the seat if he knows of any cars and he goes well no matter if I got an nephew's car he's so we'll get it out we'll get it going for you so it was like a man rush the car was sort of basically put together in three months in three months and that's a car and the car is so Nick I wanted Nick to maintain it and actually on the back of the car the on the boot of the car there's a message there for Elias it says racing for Elias so we're changing tire delivery on the car except for that we're not touched the boot with a wheel as well I think there was a reason there these are nice I think we keep that and then I'll be in a hard thing for them to absolutely the car seemed the core yeah and it was very hard when I went to drop the car off back to think to get it sort of brought up you know service and everything else so we can get it ready for this race it's just as I rolled up can we do that the Elias is dad was pulling up as well so he's a bit of an emotional thing for him as well but we'll keep that on the car and the cars are peak now getting so we've had the two days rebuilt had the brakes rebuilt and what else we do and I think we put a new engine all cooler in you see and you see yeah that fits we're doing some changing the the brake ducts and the intercooler piping that's about it really and we've changed from the standard engine mounts to a set of solid engine mounts as well you do that yeah you're allowed to do that yeah yeah yeah well you're a great change right now it'll have more vibration but at the same time when you jump on the throttle that's right should be instant and train so we've got three fuel guys who else do we need three fuel guys we need two guys on tires we need a controller we need a crew chief we need mechanic mechanic in theory we should have the tuner there as well we need somebody that's just gonna organize lunches and food and that's all the thing you need two drivers so yeah manager and is the manager the person also who talks to the drivers you can't get back to other thing as well you know you know everything from race control is relayed back by email so talking to those who just email up email up to email you just will continuously read the emails and get out to get the messages out so so it's not just that we need we need to take tables we need to take chairs we need to take laptops to a radio's somebody on the radio and as the car has got to have a tree that comes back yes so runs a motor system and a lot of years there's no there's no motor ECU but runs a side X ECU which is a really really good ECU particularly for BMWs and GTR Nissons and Evo's the problem is there's not too many people in the country that know ECU okay so we're sort of trying to work out what we're gonna do we're gonna use to go up to the whole of the other Bafist by car take it to the track and yeah we're actually racing that was that's why I had the back of the barbecue and that was it this is where this is production racing started back in the 60s yeah they're at least the least the drive the car to the track yeah pretty much yeah bolt the roll cage in and off you go and so there's not a great deal that's changed the only thing you're free to do now is some suspension work and things like that but it was also different now because you've got all these cars in a very different you know V8s and turbos and non-trivos and so they're trying to drive rearward drive and they're trying to keep some power to you so when's the car back the car should be finished at peak on there tomorrow afternoon well I'm hoping it'll come back from peak next week and then we will start testing yeah since it comes back from from people go to we can start to test the car yeah so we'll get out of the course that's my other question that's electric does the race organizers can they look at what your cars do it yeah well the race organizers need to be able to get a data feed at any point in time and if they can't get a data feed they can actually bring you back in and get you to yeah yeah they need to have a data feed there is what if they can see that it's because they could have a device in the car so if they're device fails I think they're somewhat lenient they're because you're logging in the car as well so if you're cheap they're gonna know what the end of it the hardest thing is the first year doing it right well yeah like like when we talked to Ricky said the first year is the hardest after that you know it's a lonely clip it's the first the first time you can't be for the first time you didn't take a jump up and a difficulty and probably naivety is I didn't realize the difference between a one-day event where like we said before you know you do a couple of hours of racing over over weekend and a six-hour event where you know you need to stop and refuel and change tires and all that sort of things yeah yeah yeah I didn't think into me to a risk that they make it to book money if you have three pages of what you have to do and probably after a hundred grand in yeah well even the logistics are getting a big you know what you need a truck a pentec when you said take the tables the chairs you need a truck and there's a lot of the trucks and carol absolutely there you got you got have some spares you got your tools you've got your wheels tables chairs you got three sets of wheels and tires you've got a lot of shit a lot of stuff yeah well the wheels and the tires that they use are all with a tire as well so there's no there's no wet and dry they just they just hurry up and we got a trip and I guess that's why they probably are on the drive they just horrible they just if you have to buy the bit of beds and take them down with you they have to order them and they'll have them there for you and they fit them on for you they fit them on and they balance them it's nice look before to it yeah should be fun well that we got organized people and security centers like oh look I think on this right when they're in here you're always drunk at a bit people he's security is away we got four people before it is taken to yeah we're going to combination I mean we haven't started working that we need a couple of houses we're gonna bring up tomorrow if they've got any more rooms off the bridges yeah look at we go I think it'll be learning curvy it's right absolutely yeah it's a really it's an advertising the question I didn't ask it's like you got to put a dollar sign in front of all this is this isn't cheap or free no it's due to a lot of it I mean I have to tell me to the same I should put in there is it is it sponsored no I'm fortunate that by own company and I that's my response to my vices yeah the end of the game is after Baffes is to drive it if we're in the end yeah I want to be able to do it's actually due to six hours I want to so after Baffes I want to I want to do the tailing of the year South Wales production series so I think there should be four races to go after Baffes or five after those that aren't we but so I want to try to get him to do the tailing to that that will then give me experience to be able to get to Baffes next year I've also in the process of building a simulator so I can get out of love with that you're not allowed like you're just learning how to swing absolutely yeah fuck these floaties I'm going to Olympic Park I'm gonna fucking shut me when you think about it and let's like fuck these I'm gonna swim on a 50 meter pool and I will fucking be thought next to me and let's do it buddy I'm 58 you can't take your time and do shit now right it's that point in time I'm gonna lose my eyesight yeah my hair my good Wilson and my billion in the sea what the fuck's now so yeah I'm not about all my things yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah it's not a great thing at the time left yeah it's true yeah so particularly when you're starting off say like fuck a job in the deep in the it's like how I was Tom Shaw 20 something but that's great I mean you're going there you've got good drivers behind you you've got Coxy which is seven six eight drive all right oh yeah he's all good I was it yeah but the different seasons been drawing on was on we starting at 58 that's like I have a great deal that's like having your first golf game with Greg Gordon yeah you know I'm sure the guy knows anything and Coxy we need a chance to speak to the last you have for this you'll get a mic and talk to you you can't go halfway he can't go halfway you know you're gonna go in and you're gonna go in and you said I like this we're gonna get the car to track this is just a rough it's a good plan for next year absolutely you're not so you're dropping in the deep bed you're really just seeing how it goes about it and it's a 12 month plan for next year they're very we're fortunate that they're very durable cars that the BMW said you know that the turbo six cylinders just they are they quite durable if you don't do it in his tube and the fact that yeah you can't have a boost and all that sort of thing you're protecting the edge of exactly yeah it lasts you those in threes and in threes they just go around around around yeah yeah they're always on the podium they've been on the podium for years so as long as you look after it you don't torture it and you keep the sort of the edge yeah it's becoming the hardest part of this is the process of it and the process is that and the rules are regulation so you have to know everything yeah but I think the process is what separates the teams as well you know yes and their experience in reading the rule book and getting the most out of it I think is the other big one so that we're gonna learn again as well but the track is daunting as well I said it would be cool that's like the ultimate track it's one of probably Nürburg Regan is probably the ultimate in its own production car that's a twink on the track bathus is up there I did the Nürburg Regan 2019 I think that was yeah that's pretty cool yeah but you're there with it with it you know whereas the guy sitting next to you there but you're right it doesn't matter how many times you watch about this on TV and last time Tom and I were there we we walked up to the top of the mount and when you're looking stupid he's just unbelievably steep coming down it tight you know through the film and that he's just we're driving up and on we're driving like the back road to go up to the top yeah and I thought I was taking us a long way around then you just look to your left and the track is literally right there and when you see that the wall's almost two meters high and how steep it is coming up the and they're all and they're all and they're all and they're all DC coming down we did it two years ago whatever in his band yeah all of us in it remember yeah we got through and we got through and we're driving around and like it's turning the corners whoa everyone's on the bus yeah and you're just and it's so now we're only doing 40 k's at some stage it's almost like one way you're right if you compare it to like a road and there's no you make a mistake and you're gonna say hello to the interesting bathus is not is not a track that's hard on on brakes so just it tells you how you know when they're coming down that when they're going up the mountain they're obviously not on the brakes but it also tells you when they're coming down the mountain they're not on the brakes as well bathus is actually one of the easiest tracks on brakes in the country yeah we've only got an momentum momentum you're slowing down as you know you know you're at the end of um we call it the the straight there which is that yeah and then up you know up you're not on the brakes you don't touch the brakes oh yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah but last year the one of the years when we were up there watching camera war cars they were i think the 12 hour cars had a couple of them they were watching the j-t class they're not just right you think how they turn like that yeah well last week though quicker than the two very super cars two two two two two two two with phenomenal speed and they kept that back to you wasn't it an only two-minute flat in the late 80s when the track had the straight without the no i never think they did two over two over two over two over two over the record well they said it was only six weeks they're all three cars they're quicker than the v8s yeah so it's like it's an amazing track i didn't think of the brakes side of things but it is a main sub-track so we have to break you don't have to know we should be able to get through the event i want to set up ads yeah but the pads are not like you normal pads they're like you know the three-quarter almost 25 millimeters of pad material so we should be able to get through on that uh no what are we using a these yeah i've got them the ones out of the bus it's thick looking forward to it yeah start getting people's act i can't know what i was looking about back saw right now the people isn't there i think we'll be fine do we do it depends on the picture is it's anyone who knows that the don't any questions please have you had any questions about it no i haven't looked do you know how to get to your computer last time we don't know yeah no yeah no yeah problem is trying to send me there you are yeah well i did get there eventually i didn't understand by that yes he helped out the professor last time he got back to me we thought i told you how we gave him good advice so there you have it Zach thank you for coming on any time to give us an insight and it's we're gonna meet up at the office sure i think you're the car the crew now yeah at least uh weekend yeah the long weekend so those are i think we make our way the first day come back Friday come back Friday it's me now i'm under i hope not yeah come back come back yes under an odour monday or something like that yeah it's only a short two three hour drive for god something yeah yeah yeah or i should be right we gotta take ample spares with you as well so there's bits and pieces that you can earn to the other thing is you're getting towards it there's there's parts of the car that they consider are that that just need to be replaced as a matter of course so that the what they call the vennels which advances in the times that's being replaced even they work that gets replaced anyway there's always been some pieces water pump gets replaced with pump gets replaced there's always little pieces get ripped out of the place just in case just just for the front of it well just to make sure the problem is i mean you get a faulty brand right now i say yeah most of us is well that bearings are a little watch it yeah yeah we'll bearings get done so we'll be doing the process of getting replaced now fraternary what else is he doing i think that's about it obviously all the fluids all that sort of shit right it's a look like i say it's a long road to buffers well you we've got you've experienced drivers and we've got the easiest part of it i know we've got people to reach out to it and i'm sure that if we speak to the drivers as well they've been there before they know what they need what they need as well so i think i think that before we're right it's got a car to just we're not just a zuckey sweet i mentioned there's this uh five of us here imagine five zuckey sweet and we all take off together imagine what's gonna happen i think it'd be an entirely different proposition if if the car had been there before the fact that it's been there before and it finished i think sort of yeah it's a hard screw nearing yeah i mean i'm not very very fortunate my my cfo work is one of the spruiting is there so it's not like you're gonna is just no we'll have to play that on it so it's not like i'm just yeah there's no free free ride or free ticket but i do talk to him every day and i do ask him questions can i kind of say yeah it's good so he um he's he's more so involved in in improved production series as opposed to the production series and he prepares a couple of cars for that but he knows everybody generally in those circles so we're not going to question i flick it over to him i only get an answer from somebody really really quickly so i'm quite fortunate to have Gary as he's not part of the team but he's he's gonna be interested in the office again yeah it's gonna be good i'm gonna forward to it so zac thank you for coming on anytime um a bit of another insight in learning in the world of racing and so there's a lot to it and the cars are just the only bit i mean you need to turn you need to have truck big enough for the tables and chairs of the food that Tom's gonna eat well thank you for coming on right let's review us comments we need some questions Tom's hanging for questions all talk at look.com.au we can hear the cyber instagram paper no question for you you've got a question for you guys i haven't been to studio for a couple weeks i've let my brother handle his the uh you said you were picking couches you know like yeah because he's a long day living for couches it takes me to ask him if you see the couches he wants if you get into you're not getting out you can have a fall down sideways it's the seats that i want to record like he wants those yeah like those ergonomic you know when you sort of put your knees in your seat i'll sell that so i'm like yeah yeah yeah you know i'm building a man cave at metraville you should do these from their ones and i'm building like i've got a bar there and everything like we're building a studio i've got a strip of power going in a whole lot so yeah well then you need another career for that what i'm saying is that at the table you approve on the table you'll be the table for there you can cut it you'll be saying well you'll be saying well you'll be calling we started like four minutes ago no no that's not around security what's wrong buddy so basically we're gonna get like that is it lemonade what's at table that's got the ocean and it's timber We've resident in the middle and you can do I'm going to sit your picture in the bottom of the alarm I'm going to do see the blue because I want to go check There's a place at Hunter Valley, there's a place on the Gold Coast Yeah, and I wanted to suspend it from the roof Is anyone smart if I was hanging down? No, he's got headsets You know what, hold on, did you have a pulse on the camera? What are those?

What are those? What are those? What are they? It's not going to bother me.

It's sort of, yeah, we're just trying to get the factory ready, the cars are in Now we're going to go and do the mid-aircon One sec goes in, then we can do the Aircon Yeah, you can't, you can't do it from a main cave, it'll be fine So we'll get on the booze as well, let us link on the way out Well, thank you for the invite, we'll take it up I'll let the booze act, so we'll be there That's another three months project that one The build is around the just- It sounds close back as we go there The run down the other way, we'll see what we've got So we'll do that at the end there When I call that the- No, pre-prost Hey, it's morning No, it's morning It's not morning, it's not morning, it's night If you've got trophy around, it's a show off, so Zach, thank you for coming on Anytime Bye for now Bye-bye
