Conversation 167:  The Story, Journey and Passion of Allison Riederer, MS, RD “The way our dietetics education system is set up, we get a lot of support as we are becoming dietitians and then it dissipates. You don’t become a dietitian by accident.  We fight so hard to become dietitians and I think sometimes people expect their career to be the victory lap and it’s just not the way it works.” Allison Riederer, MS, RD Today’s conversation is with Allison Riederer, a registered dietitian and founder of Root & Rise Academy who focuses on career resources and coaching for current and future registered dietitians.    Allison and I connected by being on the same cheerleading team for all registered dietitians. She has created a space to help registered dietitians navigate their careers in a positive and productive way. She almost quit the profession because she wasn’t happy with the job she was in. This lead to her working with a mentor and finding the path of teaching.
