and 入社式

from jENI NO PIKA PIKA NIHONGO 日本語

Hello. Welcome to Jenni's Pika Pika Japanese. Today is April 1st. In Japan, April 1 is the first day of the new fiscal year for many companies, so you will hear about the induction ceremony for new employees in the news. In Japan, people spend their junior and senior years of college looking for a job, putting on navy blue or black suits, visiting companies that are recruiting, listening to their seniors, or doing internships, etc. Those who pass the tests and interviews receive job offers. Then, upon graduation from college, they generally attend an induction ceremony on April 1 and enter the company. This form of employment is known as "lump-sum hiring of new graduates," so every company holds an initiation ceremony on April 1 to make the news. Looking at today's news, it seems that many companies have revived the induction ceremony, which had not been held in Corona for several years until last year. And as a slightly different induction ceremony, it was talked about that Toba Aquarium held an induction ceremony where new employees put on a special suit and entered an aquarium with green turtles and fish swimming in it, and received a letter of appointment from their boss in the aquarium. Today's episode is a "good evening" greeting when you are there at night. Enjoy!
